Local Effects
Skin irritation: May cause skin irritation.
Eye irritation: May cause eye irritation
Inhalation: May cause irritation of respiratory tract.
Ingestion: It is considered a low hazard for usual industrial handling and systemic reactions areunlikely when ingested (because they are slowly and incompletely absorbed in theintestinal tract). The most frequently seen effect is gastrointestinal irritation withabdominal pain and cramping, vomiting, diarrhea. If a significant amount ofphosphate is asborbed, the following may occur: mineral imbalance in the body, adversely affecting the osmotic pressure of body fluids resulting inhyperphosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypomagnesemia. Severe hyperphosphatemiaand hypocalcemia may result in tetany, seizures, severe dehydration, metabolicacidosis, hypernaturemia, lethargy, and hyperpyrexia, carpal spasm, and possible.May also affect the cardiovascular system (hypotension, tachycardia, bradycardia, dysrhythmias).
