MASTHEAD DESIGNS In this presentation, I will be reviewing exactly what types of mastheads I can use for the front cover of my rap styled magazine and why it would be best to use this. The first thing to think about would be who exactly is the target audience? By doing a little research, the age range of my audience is something similar to around 16+ and therefore I decided something bold and catchy would stand out.

MASTHEAD DESIGNS

In this presentation, I will be reviewing exactly what types of mastheads I can use for the front cover of my rap styled magazine and why it would be best to use this. The first thing to think about would be who exactly is the target audience? By doing a little research, the age range of my audience is something similar to around 16+ and therefore I decided something bold and catchy would stand out.

Here are some fonts that I decided would be effective to use for my masthead. The one font I think might have been the most acceptable was the “Inner City” one, just because the font looks very urbanised and is most suited for the younger generations (teenagers). It also happens to appear like graffiti so this could be another good reason to use for a rap magazine.

However, I wanted it to be a very simple magazine, with not a lot of detailed fonts, so from using other rap magazine front covers, I will probably decide to use something similar to “REAL” with the exaggerated serifs on the side. It’s not too creative, however it is plain and simple rather than having detailed 3D effects. The 2 pictures below just show some ideas of a simplistic magazine masthead, which I possibly might use
