Engineering Technical Director Profile

Ir. Lam Sing Yew @ LammieBEng(Hons), MSc, PEng (PCE), FIEM, CEng, MIET, C.E.A

Ir. Lam is a principal electrical specialist and trainer on his own niche consultancy practice in the electrical

specialist field of reliability management, asset service life cycle (ASL) integrity, ‘ex’ equipment safety auditor,

electrical incident investigator, asset maintenance management, power quality practitioner and energy

optimisation management. Had carried out energy review in their energy bill consumption by analysing the

maximum demand, electrical load factor, power factor management, electric motor efficiencies and pump &

fan performance with variable speed drive energy analysis.

He has acquired vast practical experience in project construction management in building aviation support

facilities, managing mechanical and electrical (M&E) turnkey services, oil & gas, petrochemical, manufacturing

and pulp & paper industries. In addition, he has carried out many electrical safety incident investigations due

to maintenance and/or equipment faults by facilitating the Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) methodology

approach.

He is specialised in electrical energy management and power quality field from his postgraduate study from

University of Putra Malaysia (UPM) by graduating with MSc (Electrical Power Engineering) in 2003. He also

graduated with his first bachelor’s degree qualification from University of Leicester, United Kingdom in BEng

(Hons) Electrical and Electronics in year 1995. He is a registered Professional Engineer (Electrical) with

Practising Certificate Engineer with Board of Engineers Malaysia and also attained his Charted Engineer

(CEng) with Engineering Council (UK).
