Site analysis:

The park has many attractions including; beach access, bicycle trails, grill areas, and camping area.

The specific location for the design was chosen after an initial analysis including but not limited to wind patterns of the area, best views of the location, and access to the site which includes: cars, Boats, and walking.

The design includes; galleries in 1st and 2nd floor and a fully functional apartment for the artist in the 4th and 5th floor that contains: bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, and office/study.

“Forces” for definition is the strength or energy as an attribute of physical action or movement. My project started base on this basically definition, however the form went thru a complex design evolution that involved structural, program, and scale changes.

Description:

The final studio in the Graduate Design sequence encourages students to engage in increasingly independent work that will be presented in both a review and a final book outlining their process over the course of the semester and their final designs. The Masters Project should address questions, as appropriate, related to the changing character of the city, the nature of social/cultural institutions, and the context in which their project is situated. The area of research must be developed into highly articulated projects.

These must express a substantial degree of resolution and be presented with attention to all aspects of design from technical details to overall planning. The projects should advance all areas covered in the comprehensive studio (including building systems, ADA, and safety). The student work should also consider issues of sustainability, ethics, cost analysis, and materiality.
