MASS SCHEDULE & INTENTIONS

R E G I O N T W O I N F O R M A T I O N

Public Masses for Our Lady of Grace Pastoral Region II

We are REALLY looking forward to resuming Public Masses with you beginning with our regular weekday Mass schedule on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. The dispensation of the Sunday Mass obligation, however, remains in effect until further notice. Thus, if you are at-risk for COVID-19 or otherwise unable to attend due to the various restrictions surrounding this pandemic – then weekly mass attendance is not obligatory. A limited number of people will be allowed in each church building at any given Mass time. We will try our best to accommodate those who arrive at any of the Masses, but please embrace the expectation that the occupancy limit may already be reached, especially if arriving shortly before or after the Mass start-time. For the health and safety of others, please be gracious if you are unable to enter due to full occupancy. To accommodate the social distancing and building occupancy limits, please select ONE day from our weekly Mass schedule to attend Mass. The intent is to extend every parishioner the opportunity to attend a Mass ONCE weekly. Please do not attend if your health is compromised, you are sick, or you are concerned or fearful about catching or giving the virus. We will be sending out a letter to all our parishioners explaining our schedules and procedures more fully.

SPECIAL PENTECOST COLLECTION It is the custom of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit (Spiritans) to have a special collection on Pentecost Sunday. This annual collection helps the Spiritans spread the Good News “to the ends of the earth.” It is a great symbol of solidarity between the Spiritans at home and those Spiritans who serve in the Missions abroad, e.g., in Mexico, Taiwan, Tanzania, Vietnam and the Dominican Republic. We will have a second collection at the Masses on Pentecost weekend. As your pastor I want to personally thank you for your sacrifice for the work of the Church and your support of the missionary efforts of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit. God bless you for your kindness. - Fr. Benoit PRAY FOR OUR INCOMING NEW MEMBERS Justin Breitenstein and Sam Yohannes will receive the Sacraments of Initiation on June 7, 2020 at the 9:00 a.m. Mass at Corpus Christi Church. Please pray for them as they continue on their journey of faith. SHARE YOUR STORIES We are inviting parishioners to write about their feelings and experiences during this COVID –19 outbreak. It is certainly one of the most unusual times in our lives. Our hope is to put these pieces in our newsletter booklet and/or share them in other formats. If you don’t like to write you can tell your story to one of our staff and we will write it for you. Call the parish office at 274-2107, leave your name and phone number, and we will call you back. Your story may be just the boost a fellow parishioner needs to help them along this journey.

THE CATHOLIC TELEGRAPH BECOMES A MAGAZINE

After 189 years as a newspaper, The Catholic Telegraph will become a magazine beginning with the June 2020 issue. This new format will better enable the CT to bring the goodness, beauty and truth of the Catholic faith into the homes of Catholics throughout our archdiocese. The Catholic Telegraph was one of the first Catholic newspapers in the United States, established in 1831 by the first bishop of the then-diocese of Cincinnati, Bishop Edward Fenwick. Interestingly, the CT began in a time of another major health crisis, the cholera pandemic. It has continued its mission through times both good and bad. We are excited to launch this next exciting phase of its mission!

PRAYER FOR MEMORIAL DAY HEAR OUR PRAYER THIS DAY

In the quiet sanctuaries of our own hearts let each of us name and call on the One whose

power over us is great and gentle, firm and forgiving, holy and healing ...

You who created us, who sustain us,

who call us to live in peace, hear our prayer this day.

Hear our prayer for all who have died, whose hearts and hopes are known to you alone ...

Hear our prayer for those who put the welfare

of others ahead of their own and give us hearts as generous as theirs ...

Hear our prayer for those who gave their lives

in the service of others, and accept the gift of their sacrifice ...

Help us to shape and make a world

where we will lay down the arms of war and turn our swords into ploughshares for

a harvest of justice and peace ...

Comfort those who grieve the loss of their loved ones and let your healing

be the hope in our hearts...

Hear our prayer this day and in your mercy answer us in the name of all that is holy.

The peace of God be with you.

- Austin Fleming
