MA Community CentreHistory

• Since its early setup in 1980, the charity has been continually providing programmes tailored to the specific needs of the Shia community.

• Based in Luton, off M1 Junction 10-11 and M25 corridors.

• Masjid-e-Ali is a registered UK charity and works with the wider Islamic community both locally and nationally to promote the teachings of the Ahle Bait (AS).

• Masjid-e-Ali aims to provide its community with all their essential needs and with continued support endeavors to exceed expectations.

Masjid-e-Ali holds regular programmes to cater for the needs of the community;• All Wiladat / Shahadat of Ima Masumeens

• Full Ashra’a of Muharram

• Eid Prayers

• Full Ramadhan programme

• Weekly every Thursdays –  Dua E Kumayl and Brief Lecture

• Weekly every Fridays – Namaz e Juma

• Weekly every Sunday – Childrens Education Classes

MA Community CentreThe Project

• With a growing and expanding community in particular in the counties of Bedfordshire Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and the surrounding areas there is now an URGENT need for us to expand as the current facilities are very limited and insufficient for everyday use.

– Our current facilities are not fit for purpose and we would like to establish a fully Multi functional owned centre which will be operated by the charity.

– We are missing essential facilities such as ghusl (Funeral) facilities for mayat which at the moment take place in Neville Funeral Services or other local Muslim centres.

• Our success at Masjid-e-Ali is as far reaching as the people who support us.

• Required to raise £1,500,000 to fund purchase of the property. With an additional £500,000 required to upgrade and convert the facilities.

• Funds raised so far have been largely from the local community.

• Additional financing has been kindly provided by out of town communities.

• We currently have a shortfall of £1.6m (£1.1m for the purchase and £500K for the upgrade).

• This is a two storey building with 8,500 sq feet.

• The site already has planning permission for Community Centre use as it was a Recreation/Community Centre previously.

• It is located in the heart of Luton and comprises of two spacious floors and 7 on site out buildings and air conditioning.

• Ample car parking for up to 100 cars.

• We aim to continue provide; – Regular religious, social,

Recreation and educational activities

• In addition;

– Banquet Wedding Halls– NHS Walk In Clinic– Rehabilitation Centre– Complete funeral arrangements

and ghusl amenities within the new premises.

– Dedicated state of the art facilities will be made available to service all the needs of the community.

• Based in Luton, of M1 J11 Bedfordshire, momineen from Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire will be beneficiaries

• Key towns that will be serviced are Luton, Dunstable, Aylesbury, St Albans, Bedford, & Hemel Hempstead, Milton Keynes

• Will cover individuals and families beyond along the M1 and M25 corridors.
