THANK YOU Thank you to everyone who contributed toward my bridal shower – your love and support means a lot to Dieter and I! After we’re married, we will be living in Pambrun, SK where Dieter will attend Millar College of the Bible as a student and I will go on staff in the business office. Despite all these changes, it is reas-suring to know that we have a community standing behind us.
Thanks again, Brenda and Dieter A heartfelt thank you for all the expressions of sym-pathy at the time of our mother, Pat Metz's, pass-ing. Thank you for the cards, messages, food and visits. Your friendship and support is greatly appre-ciated.
Brad, Barry, Greg, Anna Marie and families To the Maryfield Community: Florence Edmonds and her entire clan of children, their spouses, partners, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren want to express how deeply thankful we are for the generous outpouring of cards, dona-tions, condolences, and food received on behalf of our loss of Hugh.
What an incredible community to be a part of. We refrain from naming names, as we would be disap-pointed if we missed someone.
Thank you all for our continuing support during this time of transition.
Kindest Regards, Florence & Families
A huge Thank You to family and friends for all the food, flowers, visits and many inquiries while in the Pasqua hospital and back home. Your visit is wel-come anytime. Heather Radke

Winter Walking Safety Winter is not over yet! When out and about enjoying the crisp air and frosted
scenery, keep these tips in mind.
• Keep driveways and sidewalks clear from snow and ice
• Wear well-insulated, lightweight, waterproof, non-slip rubber tread soled
boots, with low heels.
• Use of a cane or walking sticks will help with balance; make sure to use
the correct height and to use it properly. If you are in doubt, ask your phar-
macist or other health care provider.
• Help other road users see you by wearing bright colours or reflective ma-
terial.
• Prevent heat loss by wearing a warm hat, scarf, and mittens or gloves.
Dress in layers as well.
• When faced with an icy surface you cannot avoid, adjusting your body
movements can increase your stability.
- Slow down. Keep feet more than a foot apart to provide a base of
support.
-keep your knees loose by bending them a bit. This will keep your cen-
tre of gravity lower to the ground, which will further stabilize the body.
-make small steps, placing your whole foot down. Shift your weight
slowly to this foot and bring your other foot to meet it the same way. Some
prefer to shuffle or drag their feet. Just remember to place your whole foot on
the ice at once and keep your base of support about one foot wide.

mal products) and/or,

Kid’s Curling Kid’s Curling closed out the season on February 3 by celebrating Saskatchewan Curling Day. Kid’s Curling includes children as young as grade 2 and offers instruction for both full sheet and half sheet curlers. Each week the participants have an oppor-tunity to learn basic curling skills and enjoy the fun of curling. To celebrate the last day each curler could bring a guest to join them (a friend, parent, sibling or neighbour) to learn more about the sport. Participants also enjoyed some curling songs, a Saskatchewan curling quiz and curling cake and cookies. Thanks to Nikki Erickson, Randy O’Greysik, and the Olson family who have helped out with Kid’s Curling this year.
Other activities to celebrate Saskatchewan Curling Day included appetizers on Tuesday, February 4 after regular league curling and the school students from 5-12 coming to the rink on Wednesday, Febru-ary 5 for curling instruction and games of mixed curling and doubles.

The Fair will be Thursday, July 30, 2020 mark it on your calendar - 152 days to go!
Fun Fact: In 1946, Guy Longman was President, C.J Scholey was V.P. and R. Plews was Secretary-Treasurer. Directors and Lady Directors were listed separately. What would the ME TOO movement think of that?! Hay & water were supplied free - to-day we supply free water.
Timothy, Rye Grass, Brome Grass, Clover, Alfalfa, Sun-flowers, Corn fodder, Rape, Marquis wheat, Rye, Oats, Barley and Flax were included in the classes. Did you know that Canola was developed from rape-seed?
Did you know that Marquis wheat was developed at Agassiz B.C., Brandon, Indian Head and Ottawa as an earlier maturing wheat with excellent yield and bak-ing qualities? Plant breeding was a totally new con-cept in 1892 when William Saunders crossed Hard Red Calcutta and Red Fife. By 1918, Marquis wheat was 80 - 90% of the total wheat acreage.
MARYFIELD SCC
The SCC has had a busy month and we would like
to send some thank-yous to community members
who helped us get through it. We had our annual
school dance on February 7th. Our theme was win-
ter wonderland. Instead of buying decorations we
borrowed almost everything! In no particular or-
der, thank you to Cindy Cairns for the projector
light, Nora Hill for the table cloths, Rebecca John-
son for the icicle lights and Fairlight Drop-In for the
giant, blow-up snowman. We had our hot lunch on
February 13th. That was the day the power was out
in the morning! Thank you to Bryan Swallow for
letting us cook all the hot dogs on the grill at the
rink. The SCC values all the help that we receive to
make our school the best it can be!
There will be a Spring Trade Fair at the Harmony Center on Saturday, April 18, 10:00-3:00. If anyone would like a table, please contact Janet Lemon 646-4604.
Community Acres
The proceeds from Community Acres helps fund a major portion of the Maryfield Rink’s annual operat-ing expenses. Each year farmers and interested parties volunteer to seed, spray, stone pick, swath and harvest the rented acres. The seed is often donated as is the chemical and other products needed. We are thankful for the farmers who have done this work over the past years but we would really like to see others get involved. If you are a farmer and you or your family benefit from the Maryfield Rink, please consider giving the Maryfield Rec. Board a hand with Community Acres. The Rec. Board will pay custom rates for work done on community acres. Farmers who then choose to donate that back to the Rec. Board can receive a donation re-ceipt through the Village of Maryfield. For more in-formation or to volunteer or donate, contact Chris Lincoln, Daryl Erickson or Bryce Olson.
