This e-course will provide current information related to the diagnosis

and characteristics of autism. Also included are how brain differences

relate to some behavioral differences, possible causes, and how to

support individuals with autism in the home, school and community.

Maryann Trott is an Education and Outreach

Manager with the Autism and Other

Developmental Disabilities Program at the Center

for Development and Disability. She is a Board

Certified Behavior Analyst. She worked in New

Mexico public schools beginning in 1974, serving

as both a classroom teacher and

consultant. Specific interests include sensory

processing, toilet training, precision teaching and

working with individuals with severe disabilities. She has traveled throughout the

United States giving Professional Development Seminars. She is the author of

SenseAbilities – Understanding Sensory integration and Oh Behave! Sensory

processing and behavior strategies working together.
