about me
work history:
I have been working in design for the past 29 years.
Worked 11-plus years in the film business after graduating from Ohio
University with a B.S. in Journalism and a minor in film. I have worked as
art department coordinator, set decorator, and set designer on movies, TV
commercials, and corporate productions. I loved it, but wanted a family.
After going back to school, I graduated the same year my son was born in
1997 with a degree in Interior Design, and I have created designs for
residential and commercial clients ever since. I was thrilled to go part time
as the joys and demands of motherhood called, but now that my kids are
grown, I have increased my hours to full time and work with numerous
small business and residential clients.
To assist clients both commercial and
residential in creating workplaces and
homes that give them enjoyment and pride.
My goal is to be a trusted advisor who guides my clients to transform their
spaces into highly efficient environments that ultimately reflect their business
philosophies in their offices and their unique lives and souls in their homes.

“My master bathroom was boring white. I was ready for a change.
I really didn’t know where to start. Then, a friend recommended
Maryann. What a godsend!
She made the renovation proceed effortlessly. She pointed me in
the right direction for choices and layout at the same time listening
to my wants and needs.
It was truly a joint effort. Now my master bathroom is my favorite
room! I would highly recommend Maryann to anyone and do!!”

Step 1: I listen. The first step in any job is to meet with the client and assess the space. I listen to my clients needs and desires to improve their current situation in their place of work or in their home.
→ provide questionnaire
→ determine budget and decision maker
Step 2: I plan. The second step is to come up with a preliminary “plan of action” –I break down the job into steps and provide this plan to my clients.
Step 3: I draw (if required). I will develop a set of drawings usually providing two options as to how we can better improve the space.
Step 4: I collect bids. Typically we will interview several contractors. Every job and situation is unique.
Step 5: I finish selections/project management. I almost always complete finished selections and in some cases will provide sources for those who want to shop on their own. Often I will manage the entire project for clients.
