Quilt Raffle to benefit Susq. Co. Libraries

An Americana Quilt Raffle will be held to benefit the Susquehanna County Library System. The quilt was made by the Susq. Library Quilters. Donation is $10 and the draw-ing will be held on Sept. 16, 2016. Only 200 tickets will be sold. You can purchase a ticket at any Susq. County Branch Li-brary.

Bidding Documents will be available Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.

Bidders are required to secure a complete set of Bidding Docu-ments for all contracts. A com-plete set of Bidding Documents may be secured only at the of-fices of KCBA Architects, 8 East Broad Street, Hatfield, Pennsyl-vania, 19440 (Phone: (215) 368-5806) in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

A nonrefundable fee of One-Hundred dollars ($100.00), pay-able to the Architect (KCBA Ar-chitects), is required for each set of Bidding Documents on CD in PDF format. No additional fee will be required for UPS or Fed-eral Express delivery of docu-ments if Bidder provides a valid account number for delivery service. Lois R. Carite, 77, Jermyn, died Saturday, April 2, 2016, in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Her husband was the late Carmel Carite.

Born in Carbondale, daugh-ter of the late Walter and Elea-nor Siebold Harvey, she was a member of the Primitive Meth-odist Church, Jermyn.

Surviving are four daugh-ters, Debbie Kielar, Carbon-dale; Judy Graham, Vandling; Joyce Short, Forest City; and Corina Carite, Jermyn; three sons, John Wysocki, Carbon-dale; Walter Carite, Jermyn; and Brian Carite, Blakely; one brother, Robert Harvey, Arch-bald; 13 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Battenberg Funeral Home, 363 Washington Ave., Jermyn, with the Rev. Allan Rupert, pastor, Primitive Methodist Church, Jermyn, officiating. Interment, Valley View Memo-rial Park, Scott Twp. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to review and approve the Fi-nal Land Development Appli-cation prepared by Trade East-ern, Inc. for the Susquehanna Co. Housing Development Corporation.

The Design Plans cover the proposed Forest City Afford-able Housing Project to be lo-cated at the corner of Hudson and Depot Streets. The Land Development Application, project plans and other relat-ed materials are available for inspection at the Forest City Borough Office during regular office hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Commission will also be reviewing the Plans submit-ted by Barry Isett & Associates, Inc. for the Forest City Region-al School District – K-12 Build-ing Renovations.

RR Forest City

Leona M. Machiesky, 84, of RR Forest City, died Saturday, April 2, 2016, at home.

Born in Carbondale, daugh-ter of the late Charles and Edith Baldwin McAndrew, she was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Carbondale. She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. Before retirement, she was employed as a seamstress for the former P&A Dress Factory, Carbondale. She was a member of the Interna-tional Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will al-ways be missed.

Surviving are two daughters, Edie Dobitsch and husband, Jules; and Deborah Virbitsky and husband, Ken; all of Clif-ford Twp.; two sons, Robert Machiesky and wife, Mary Frances, Carbondale Twp.; and Trevor Sheare and wife, Jaki, Clifford Twp.; 14 grandchildren, Jules Dobitsch and wife, Jen-nifer; Francis Dobitsch, Dennis Dobitsch, M.D.; Teresa, Maria and Katrina Virbitsky, Sean and Tara Sheare, Eileen Saam and husband, Kevin; Kristen Sheare, Jamie Machiesky and wife, Lee Ann; Rosalie Hilling and hus-band, David; Robert Machiesky and wife, Stephanie; David Machiesky and wife, Ashley; and Jonathan Machiesky and wife, Vanessa; 10 great-grand-children; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Sheare; three brothers, Rob-ert, Joseph and Francis “Nick” McAndrew; and a sister, Eileen Carlo.

The funeral was held April 5 in Trinity Episcopal Church, Carbondale. Spring interment, Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart.

Vincent E. Miszler, 92, of Honesdale, died on Friday, April 1, 2016, at the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger Community Med-ical Center in Scranton. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Betty Watson.

Born on June 19, 1923, in Berlin Twp., he was the son of the late Charles and Wil-helmina Wiest Miszler.

Surviving are two sons, Tom Miszler and wife, Pa-mela; and Vince, all of Honesdale; two daughters, Tanya Gibbons of Clifford Twp.; and Debbie Johannes of Honesdale.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale, at 10 a.m. Inter-ment with military honors will follow in Indian Or-chard Cemetery. Friends may visit the Hessling Fu-neral Home Inc., 428 Main St., Honesdale, on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. All visitors are asked to use the Fifth Street entrance.

Donald R. Motsko, Jr., 54, of Rocklin, CA, died Tuesday, March 22nd at home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Motsko.

Born in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Carole McDon-nell Motsko, Ararat, and the late Atty. Donald Motsko, Sr., he was a member of the Catholic faith. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, West Ha-ven, CT, and Syracuse Univer-sity. While attending college, he was employed during the sum-mer by Tully Drilling Company, Poyntelle. He was currently em-ployed by Nor-Cal Pump and Well Drilling, Yuba City, CA.

Also surviving are a brother: Thomas Motsko and wife Shel-ley, Southwick, MA; and 2 nieces: Jennifer and Ellen Motsko.

The funeral was Tuesday, April 5 with Mass of Christian Burial in Saint James Church, Pleasant Mount. Interment, Saint James Cemetery, Pleasant Mount. Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
