Racial Segregation

The Racial Segregation was the separation of humans into racial groups in daily life.

This was used in cases such as going to the school, eating in a restaurant, etc.

Rosa Parks's Case

Rosa's case is very famous.

Rosa was sitting in a bus, and she didn't left her seat to a white man. She was arrested.

MLK's Parents

His parent was Martin Luther King Sr. He was a Baptist pastor, missionary, and a leader in the American Civil rights Movement.

His mother was Alberta Williams King. She played an important role in the affairs of the Ebenezer Baptist Church

Birth of MLK

He was born in Atlanta, the 15th of January of 1929.

His legal name at birth was Michael King.

His father changed his name to Martin Luther

Martin Luther King's early life.

He studied in the Booker T Washington High School.

Later, he went to the Morehouse school.

He was an excellent student.

University

He entered in the Morehouse School, at the age of 15th.

In 1948, he graduated from Morehouse with a bachelor of Arts in sociology.

He finished his studies in 1854.

Baptist Minister

MLK became a Baptist Minister, because his father was a Baptist Minister.

His father defend social rights, and was an early civil rights leader befores his son did the same thing.

MLK's Speeches.

MLK did some speeches during his career.

Probably. the most famous speech of MLK is I have a dream.

He wanted an equality between the black and the white people.

Gandhi - MLK

MLK studied the philosophy of Gandhi, in 1950.

He wanted to know the meaning of satyagraha, that means love-force.

He was very interested in his ideas.

I have a dream

This is the most important speech of MLK.

It was in 1963, and he said that he had a dream, the equality between the white and the black people.

It was a very important step for the Civil Rights in the U.S.A.

MLK's arrest

On April 12th 1963, Martin Luther King Jr was arrested following a nonviolent protest demonstrating against segregation in Birmingham Alabama.

Police arrested King for demonstrating without a permit and placed him in the Birmingham City Jail for 11 days.

Enemies

Martin Luther King had a lot of enemies too.

His enemies were mainly white people.

He was killed by an enemie, called James Earl Ray.

Dead

He was killed in Memphis, Tennessee, the 4th of april 1968.

He was assassinated after the day of his famous speech I've been to the mountain top.

His assassin was James Earl Ray.

James Earl Ray

He was a white man, that killed Martin Luther King.

He tried to escape, but he was arrested in an airport of London.

He died in the prison, because of a disease.

Nobel Prize

The 14th of october, Martin Luther King won the Nobel Price for Peace.

Dr. King said that every penny of the prize money would be given to the civil rights movements.

I am glad people of other nations are concerned with our problems here.

After MLK

After news of King's death, riots erupted almost immediately throughout the country.

Detroit, Chicago, Hartford, Conn, and other cities were gripped with violence and fires.

I have a Dream

This is one of the most important speeches of MLK.

He said that he dreamt with an equality of rights between the white people and the black people.

This happened the 28th of August of 1963.
