Novus Civitas Sucursal Colombia - Cartagena, ColombiaArchitect – Project CoordinatorI oversee that the master plan of 1,000 hectares done by Safdie Architects and EDSA Plan follows local zoning codes and local market demand. Coordinate logistics and local architectural concerns for the Centro Hospitalario Serena del mar (400 bed hospital) between Safdie Architects, Tsoi Kobus, local architects and engineers. I review drawings (CD, SD, DD, CD) produced by Safdie, TK&A and local architects. Prepare drawings, diagrams, presentations and technical narratives for possible investors or clients. Present the master plan to possible investors and clients. Coordinate the architecture and engineering for the project Centro Corporativo Serena del Mar, a 14,000 square meter office and university building. I make sure the correct design process is being followed (concept design, schematic design, design development and construction documents) by the design team. Develop the Revit model for the Centro Corporativo Serena del Mar.

STADIUM:[contributing with physical development]

The new stadium complex for USC will maintain its surrounding a live even on non-game days. The shape of the stadium is created emphasizing its two main circula-tion routs. Its monumental entrance and circulation path create an expectation for the user through the jour-ney and later toward the interior of the stadium. The skin takes into consideration the Los Angeles weather allowing for air circulation and natural indirect light penetration. Every louver opens mechanically in relation to the sun.

PUENTE BEACH:[allowing the mind to fly]

A family vacation home that has the comfort of the city and the magic of its surroundings. A vacation home envi-sioned to become a permanent home once their daughter move out. United but separate is the relationship the homeowners want to maintain with their daughters. Because of its prime orientation and the owner’s interest in the environment, the environment and its surroundings have shaped the house geometrically and technologically. Environmental concepts and the views of the house make this a magnificent relaxation space.BARÚBARÚ-COLOMBIA-COLOMBIA

CELLU/ARCH:[working with the environment]

Pneumatic buildings are not often built. The challenge for this one week seminar was to create a pneumatic structure that would work in conjunction with the envi-ronment. Our group opted for pneumatic cells that would mechanically react based on the exterior weath-er. Our project was inspired on leaves and vegetable cells; these are structurally solid and light. The structural form of the arc is ideal because it works in conjunction with the cells structurally.

LIVE + PLAY:[serving the community]

A proposal for a high density mixed-use project for the community. Live + Play will serve as a city focus and a cata-lyst project in the region. The project is open for those in the neighborhood and its residents. It is a proposal for people to congregate for hours taking advantage of the various activities that lie within (children´s museum, shop-ping, gym, YMCA). Environmental concepts have been used as the strategy to shape the building. The project is designed to have low energy consumption with passive architecture, high quality air and thermal comfort. INSTALATION:[interpreting movements]

Analyzing the bodies’ mechanical movement leads to the creation of this wheel. The purpose of this installa-tion is to obtain water movements similar to those a swimmer created in a swimming pool. Months of inves-tigation in the school’s Olympic swimming pool lead to conclusions about each swimming style. The installation was an interpretation of those movements in the water. Because the installation was operated by hand, every person obtained a different experience, the same way every swimmer leaves a different streak in the water. ATLANTAATLANTA

LUXURIOUS OASIS[taking advantage of the magic of light]

To buy a real estate property is an important decision in one´s life. The design of the sales room for this real estate company is inviting and calm. It is meant to incite people in buying because of the quality of the space. Hues in the design are blues and greens to maintain correlation with the surroundings. The central fountain will be illuminated from the bottom to catch the buyer’s attention as he enters the room. This sales center is a great example of what there is beyond the signing of the agreement. LOS ANGELES
