2. Martha Domnguez,Background Born in El Paso, TX 1951 She said that Education is key! Her father shared that the one thing that could not be taken away was education. He recognized the value of an education. This is the reason she values education. She takes pride in having earned the reputation of a strong work ethic, integrity, and honesty, which are a direct result of her upbringing. Dominguez taught catechism and confirmation classes at her church for many years. Dominguez is married and raised two nieces as her own children and has three stepchildren. 3. Education. She currently is the director of support personnel for the Ysleta Independent School District in El Paso. Martha Domnguez.CONTRIBUTION TO TX EDUCATION Texas took a step toward instituting ethnic studies courses in public schools across the state on April 10th 2014, with the State Board of Education voting 11 to 3 to create instructional materials for such classes (huffingtonpost 2014). Activists had pushed since November to create a statewide Mexican-American studies curriculum, arguing that such courses would help boost student achievement and foster cultural awareness in the states majority-Hispanic school system. 8. The most important characteristic required to work with students is "caring." Then, "respect." When you care, regardless of the position, students come first in everything that you do.
