NEW PROGRAM APOLLO BAY – ASSISTING YOUNG PEOPLE TO GAIN THEIR LICENCE
The L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program is an exciting free program available to 16 - 20 year olds ,living in the Apollo Bay who are facing significant barriers in gaining the 120 hours of driving experience needed to take the probationary licence test.
The L2P assists learners under 21 years of age, who do not have access to a supervising driver or vehicle, to gain the driving experience required to apply for a probationary licence.
Young people are matched with fully licensed volunteer mentors and have access to use a sponsored vehi-cle to gain supervised driving experience. L2P is free for eligible young people and is funded by the Victorian Government Transport Accident Commission and local community businesses, organisations and sporting clubs who sponsor the program.
L2P Mentors
Apollo Bay program L2P is currently seeking volunteers to supervise learner drivers. Here is your opportunity to contribute to a safer community by men-toring local young people who really need your support. All new volunteers complete VicRoads developed training to learn how to supervise learner driv-ers in the L2P program.
A mentor training program will be conducted on the 5th of August at Marrar Woorn. For further information regarding the program please ring the L2P
Co-ordinator Barry on 0490 040 078 or call into Marrar Woorn.
