Centenary, finishing with 10 points and 12 rebounds in 31 minutes of action.Saturday’s outing marked the first time since Dec. 5, 2009 against NC State that Butler
was able to reach double figures in both points and rebounds. Against the Wolfpack, hefinished with 19 points and 12 boards.
Jones Shows Proper 3-Point Etiquette Against GentlemenFreshman forward Jamail Jones had a breakout offensive performance against
Centenary, netting a personal-best 11 points in just 11 minutes off the bench.Jones finished 4-of-6 from the field overall and 3-of-4 from behind the 3-point line. He
also chipped in one block and a steal. The Atlanta, Ga., native’s trio to treys marked justthe third time this season a MU player drained at least three long-distance shots in a sin-gle game. Junior Darius Johnson-Odom netted five 3-pointers against Milwaukee andsenior Dwight Buycks made three shots from behind the line in the win over Bucknell.
Blue Picking Up Offensive ProductionFreshman Vander Blue has made a habit of consistently contributing in a variety of sta-
tistical categories on a game-by-game basis. In recent outings he has managed toincrease his offensive production.
The Madison, Wis., native has reach double figures in point on four occasions this year, including three of the squad’s last four contests. He is averaging 14.0 points per game dur-ing that time span.
In the win over Centenary, Blue chipped in 16 points and a career-best nine rebounds. He shot 8-of-10 from the floor and also found time to contribute a team-best five assists andone steal.

games for Marquette. He is shooting a perfect 9-of-9 from behind the line on his respective first attempt of
each outing. Of those nine treys, six have come from the top of the key. Following his firstshot from long distance, however, Crowder has connected on just 1-of-14 attempts datingback to the Nov. 17 contest versus Green Bay.
For the season, Crowder is connecting on 40.0 percent (10-of-25) from 3-point land.
BIG EAST Competition Right Around The CornerWith the calendar moving to December, always-tough BIG EAST Conference play is
rapidly approaching.MU will get an early jump, literally, on the league schedule with a 10 a.m. CT matchup
against West Virginia on New Year’s Day at the Bradley Center.Through games of Dec. 19, league schools have posted an overall record of 132-33
(.802), including a collection of several regular-season tournament titles and an impressive97-7 mark at home. Seven programs are ranked in the top-25 (three others receiving votesin both polls), including an amazing five in the top-10. Four programs (Georgetown,Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Villanova) have all owned spots in the top-25 since the releaseof the postseason poll.
MU’s conference schedule currently features nine games against nationally rankedsquads, including four-in-a-row in late January. BIG EAST schools are 7-7 against top-25teams thus far in 2010-11. Six of the league’s 16 teams have already posted 10-or-morewins and the BIG EAST features more undefeated squads (three) than any over confer-ence.

Is Key To Victory Field Goal Percentage?Head coach Buzz Williams has stressed defense since he took over the reigns of the
program and that focus, along with offensive efficiency, has played a key role in the team’ssuccess during his tenure.
Dating back to the start of 2008-09, the Golden Eagles are 39-2 when finishing the gamewith a field goal percentage even-or-better than their opponents. That includes an 8-1mark thus far in 2010-11 and a 14-1 record in 2009-10. The only losses came March 6, 2010versus Notre Dame and on Dec. 11, 2010 against Wisconsin.
Since 2008-09, MU has finished 50 percent-or-better from the field on 25 occasions andowns an 23-2 record (at Villanova in 2008-09, vs. Washington in 2009-10) in those outings.
Marquette is now 21-4 overall when holding its opponent under 60 points, including theteam’s 81-52 victory over Centenary.
Otule’s Vision Is Perfect From The Field Vs. LUSophomore center Chris Otule finished a perfect 9-of-9 from the field in the victory over
Longwood on Dec. 4, finishing just one basket away from matching former teammateWesley Matthews’ school-best mark (10-of-10 vs. Rutgers, 1/7/09).
The Richmond, Texas, native finished with a career-best 19 points in just 19 minutes ofaction and was also able to chip in five rebounds and three blocked shots. His effortsearned him a place on the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll for the week of Dec. 6.
Otule’s perfect streak from the field extended to a total of 13 shot attempts and threegames before missing against A&M-Corpus Christi. For the year he is an impressive 26-of-36 (72.2 percent) from the floor.
MU Extends Series Winning Streak Against MilwaukeeMarquette has now matched up with Milwaukee in men’s basketball on 38 occasions
all-time, coming away victorious in each of those outings. The Golden Eagles’ current 38-game winning streak is the second-longest active run
by any NCAA program against a single opponent and ranks eighth all-time.Of the 38 matchups, 34 have come in Marquette’s home arena. That current home-
court run is sixth-best in the NCAA. MU “traveled” to Milwaukee for the first time since1931 and the three-point victory was the slimmest winning margin in series history.

The 2009-10 Golden Eagles were a perfect illustration ofWilliams' core system of values, working hard on a dailybasis to ensure the team's accomplishments on the courtand in the classroom would bring a sense of pride to allof the University's supporters.
The team's character was tested from start to finish, beginning with low preseason expectations from thenational pundits and concluding with a heartbreakingpostseason loss. No team in the nation played in moreone-possession games than MU, but that didn't stop thesquad from collecting the program's fifth-straight NCAAChampionship appearance and 20-win season.Marquette finished 22-12 overall, including an 11-7 markin the BIG EAST Conference, which was good enough forfifth-place in the 16-team league.
Lazar Hayward (Second Team All-BIG EAST) finishedsecond all-time in scoring at MU and four of the pro-gram's top-10 all-time scorers have now graduated with-in the past two seasons. The Golden Eagles have also continuedand strengthened their long-standing relationships withChildren's Hospital as well as Special Olympics.
