energy from the grid; • Applica6ons for charging on-‐street, workplace and at non-‐viable sites;
• Superior ba*ery technology allows future-‐proof 200kW charging and charging mul6ple vehicles at once.
How is this implemented? ● Zapinamo’s unit can be semi-‐
sta6c, connected to power supply (e.g. 7kW charger) or movable;
● Movable unit can be in the back of an electric van or trailer, enabling charging on-‐demand.
Applica6ons: ● Areas without access to off-‐street
parking; ● Rapid charger site valida6on; ● Desired rapid charger sites without
the required power or grid capacity; ● Transforming exis6ng 7kW chargers
into rapid charger sites.
Impact on emissions and market: ● Range anxiety is reduced as
charging is on-‐demand, where the driver needs it;

• CNG Fuels Ltd • Mr. Philip Fjeld • Email: [email protected] • Contact: 07976 159 833 / www.cngfuels.com About us and our innova6on • CNG Fuels is the leading UK owner and operator of public access
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) refuelling sta6ons • We recently opened the UK’s first CNG sta6on that is connected to the high-‐
pressure (LTS) natural gas grid • Leyland LTS CNG Sta6on is an unmanned facility, that is open 24/7/365 and
which can refuel more than 500 HGVs per day (on an energy equivalent basis more than 30,000,000 litres of diesel/year)
• An LTS connected CNG sta6on dispenses fuel that is approx. 40% lower cost than diesel on an energy equivalent basis
How is this implemented • LTS grid closely tracks haulage trunking
routes and popula6on centres
• LTS CNG sta6ons will also include CNG trailer loading facili6es, meaning CNG can be trucked to smaller off-‐grid CNG sta6ons
Applicable sectors / vehicles • Typical trunking/commercial HGVs
• Refuse collec6on
• Construc6on vehicles
• Buses
• Vans
How does this impact emissions • Euro 6 standard for local emissions
• Natural gas engines are approx. 50% quieter than diesel equivalents (ideal for night-‐6me deliveries)
• An op6on to use 100% renewable, carbon-‐neutral gas, which then also solves the CO2 issue
What you need to reach market • Dedicated gas vehicles are increasingly
becoming available, and the next 12 months will see an even greater roll-‐out
• Help to spread the message that proven, reliable vehicles are available today, and that vehicles are not only greener than diesel, but also generate significant cash savings for operators
• ENN Clean Energy UK • Daniel Lambert • [email protected] • 020 7042 8360 www.enneu.com
About us and our innova6on • Natural gas vehicle refuelling is not exactly an innova6on outside the UK, as
there are several million natural gas-‐powered vehicles worldwide, and several thousand refuelling sta6ons to refuel them.
• ENN is a world leader in this field, with 600+ sta6ons worldwide. • ENN has introduced a range of innova6ve solu6ons to the UK, developed in
partnership with our customers: including modular, scalable sta6on technology to grow with the market, innova6ve billing technology, etc.
• Natural gas provides significant emissions and noise reduc6ons in comparison with diesel, as well as considerable economic savings
How is this implemented • Our customers refuel their natural
gas-‐powered vehicles at one of our open-‐access refuelling sta6ons, or at a depot-‐based sta6on which we install and operate on their behalf.
Applicable sectors / vehicles • Prac6cally any vehicle can use natural
gas as a fuel, from cars to vans to trucks to buses to forkliqs…
• ENN currently concentrates on heavier-‐duty vehicles, mainly HGVs and buses
How does this impact emissions • Natural gas has significantly lower
NOx, PM, and sulphur emissions than diesel
• CO2 emissions are lower than diesel, and reduce significantly further if biomethane is used
What you need to reach market
• All we require is a minimum number of vehicles to refuel at each facility on a regular basis, to make it financially viable
• ENN already has 3 sta6ons in the UK (and 600+ worldwide)
Gasrec • Rob Wood • [email protected] • 07785904950 – www.gasrec.co.uk
Gasrec provides natural gas as an alterna6ve fuel to diesel. We are the largest supplier of gas to heavy commercial vehicles in Europe through 9 refuelling sta6ons. Natural Gas is:
• Cheaper than diesel • Reduces CO2
• Improves air quality by reducing NOx and par6culate emissions • Vehicles are available today
How is this implemented • Replacing diesel fuelled vehicles
with vehicles designed to run on CNG (compressed natural gas) or LNG (liquefied natural gas)
Applicable sectors / vehicles • Light commercial vehicles • Heavy commercial vehicles • Heat and power applica6ons
How does this impact emissions • Poten6ally reduces NOx and
par6culates versus Euro 6 diesel • Reduce CO2 emissions by up-‐to
10% and more depending on the bio-‐methane content
What you need to reach market • Sufficient aggregated demand to
jus6fy a refuelling sta6on development
Multi-fuel Technologies
• ULEMCo Ltd • Sean O’Kane • [email protected] • 07413 084389 / www.ulemco.com We are engineering specialists that can convert vehicles to run on hydrogen, par6cularly dual fuel TRANSIT and similar sized vans, and Rigid HGV such as Refuse Trucks. As one of the UK’s leading company’s in hydrogen we can also advise and engineer solu6ons to provide hydrogen refuelling from back to base low cost sta6ons to fully integrated onsite genera6on systems connected to renewable energy genera6on, and access to London’s growing network of public sta6ons
How is this implemented: We take a conven6onal diesel vehicle and fit a hydrogen kit and novel engine control system that enables it to run as dual fuel. Depending on the space on board and the duty cycle we displace between 40 and 70% with hydrogen
Applicable sectors / vehicles:
1.8tes to 3.5 te LCVs (NB: Current TRANSIT version is eligible for 100% discount to Conges6on Charge)
Any rigid HGV with space for hydrogen tanks
Vehicles opera6ng in urban areas, where we can op6mise to maximum Hydrogen use
How does this impact emissions: Hydrogen is a Zero carbon low emission fuel; approximately 1kg of hydrogen is at least 1 gallon of diesel. For every gallon of diesel displaced you will reduce carbon emissions by the equivalent amount at the same 6me as reducing air quality emissions.
What you need to reach market: Fleet operators that are keen to reduce carbon and air quality emissions Access and support for developing hydrogen refuelling infrastructure Scaled vehicle demonstra6on to help bring the cost down
• Mercury Fuel Systems Ltd Stephen DraycoD, Engineering Manager Email: [email protected] Tel: 01179822980/ www.mercuryfuelsystems.com Mercury Fuel Systems manufacture the Quicksilver-‐AFI dual fuel system for Euro 5+6 HGV’s which replaces up to 30% of the expensive and carbon-‐intensive primary fuel
(diesel) with a less expensive and lower carbon-‐content secondary fuel, usually LPG. This dual-‐fuel technology will deliver significant economic and environmental benefits to the Vehicle Operator including 8%-‐15 % reduc6on in fuel costs depending upon the choice of secondary fuel and route criteria. Independent tests have indicated that pollutants and greenhouse gasses can be reduced using our system and exis6ng customers tell us that the return on investment can be achieved in 10-‐18 months (depending on individual circumstances) with on-‐going savings for the remainder of the life of the vehicle.
We are members of the LowCVP and are on two working groups (Vans and HGV) within the LoCity/DfT ini6a6ve
How is this implemented • The truck is first tested using diesel only by
placing it on a dynamometer (rolling road). • Process repeated but with LPG and Diesel • At each stage LPG is gradually • The amount of LPG added and diesel taken
away at this point is then set on the ECU • Now the engine is mapped for Dual Fuels
Applicable sectors / vehicles • All commercial vehicles above 3.5 T. • Off road including plant equipment • Rail • Marques commissioned:-‐ • MAN, DAF, SCANIA • VOLVO, RENAULT • IVECO, MERCEDES • FORD
How does this impact emissions • Reduc6on in CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions • Poten6ally reduces NOx and other pollutants • 8 – 15% saving in fuel costs • Return on investment from • 10-‐18 months (subject to route criteria)
What you need to reach market • Tax breaks for LPG and other alterna6ve clean gasses. • More understanding from Government departments of the benefits of LPG over other forms of secondary dual Fuels, many of which have Methane problems. • Help for operators with set up costs. • Maintain or increase differen6al between LPG and Diesel prices.
