Market Muttering

With the children enjoying their half term holidays this week the market saw an increase of families enjoying all that Melton Mowbray had to offer. The full

Fur and Feather section proved a hit with the children admiring the Rabbits and Guinea pigs on offer. The livestock sections saw fewer numbers to

previous weeks however prices remain high as we head into the summer months.

Notice to vendors bringing cattle into Melton Mowbray

Market

In order to comply with the Tuberculosis (England) order 2007 we would like to

remind vendors when stating the TB testing date of the cattle being sent to

market the date of test section should be filled out as the date of injection not

the date of the reading.

The 60 day period in which animals can be moved begins on this date.

To assist us with this matter please ensure a TB test certificate accompanies all

cattle entering the market, this can be sent directly from your vets to the office

via email or a hard copy sent with your entry form.

TB Restricted sale

Please contact Tom or Scott to discuss sales of store and prime cattle from TB

restricted holdings.

Bio security charges

Please note the bio security fee charged to vendors bringing stock to market currently includes cleansing and disinfection of all market sections and

washout of vehicles on market days.

Young lambs / kids

Please ensure that any lambs or kids brought to Market have a healed navel

and are over 7 days old. If you have any questions, please call Scott or Tom.
