Church Board Minutes – January 2, 2017 Board members present: John Schutte, Chuck Sohler, George Schroeder, Jesse Jelinek, Cade Sohler, Ron Jelinek, Dan Kuhlman, Cory Linn, and Rev. Jeff Warner. Absent: Bryan Pippitt, Kenny Stark, Tate Cunningham, Mark McCoy, Matt Schroeder, and Greg Pippitt. Guest: Tyler Uthof. President John Schutte called the meeting to order. Rev. Warner led us in prayer. Secretary’s Report: George Schroeder read the secretary’s report from December 5, 2016. The report was approved as read. Treasurer’s Report: Jesse Jelinek presented the Treasurer’s report and led discussion. Chuck Sohler moved to accept the Treasurer’s report. Cade Sohler seconded. Motion carried. Pastor’s Report: On schedule with most all goals. Looking for ways to continue growth. Constitution By-Laws were discussed and how to move forward. Hopefully will continue to write articles for the Laurel Advocate. Parsonage repairs are up to date. Elder’s Report: None Deacon’s Report: None Trustee’s Report: The bill for the windows was submitted. Steps were put in the parsonage basement. Cory will look into ice melt. Old Business: none New Business: Guest Tyler Uthof (Thrivent) presented a short report on the Allan Brodersen account. Now that Digger is deceased, all of the money in this account needs to be transferred into a special beneficiary account to earn 3%. The old account can no longer be used. The new account does not accept contributions but withdrawals can be made anytime. Cade Sohler moved to close the Brodersen account funds, and move them into special beneficiary account. George Schroeder moved to accept the proposed budget for 2017. Ron Jelinek seconded. Motion carried. The being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. The meeting was closed with a prayer.

Just Married Congratulations to Laurie (Schroeder) and Matt Price who were married January 21, in Kansas City. Laurie is the daughter of George and Kris Schroeder, and the granddaughter of Darlene Schroeder. We wish them all of God’s blessings as they begin this new adventure!
