L-3 DPAs WISECargo provides a

completely integrated environment for

the training of personnel in all aspects

of the handling of liquid cargoes on

board ships without the need for large

simulator installations or instructors.

WISE Cargo was designed to allow

students to undertake their training

using the capabilities of a real-time

simulator, but absolutely no instructor

present. This allows the student to

train themselves, and is therefore ideal

for use as part of on-board or out-of-

hours training program, or to allow

new instructors to become familiar

with the operation of the simulator and

the specific models. WISE Cargo combines a non-

networked version of the L-3 DPA SafeCargo multi-

station simulator system with the WISE Monitoring

and Feedback system and guided-learning course

material.

L-3 DPAs WISE Intelligent System can also be

used to provide the ability to expand the use the

capabilities of the SafeCargo and provide the tools

that institutions and companies require to maximize

the effectiveness of the training provided using the

simulator in the classroom and remote environments.

KEY FEATURES

The ship models provide full simulation of all cargo

and ballast operations including all related to cargo

handling for the particular ship type.

By monitoring the actions of the student and activity

within the ship model the unique WISE Virtual In-

structor provides feedback to the trainee about his/

her actions and the likely outcomes.

Trainees can then access an online reference library

containing material that will al low them to learn and

process through a cargo operation without the assis-tance of an instructor or supervisor.

The supplied course material provides all the infor-

mation required by a trainee to learn how to use the

software effectively and undertake the various cargo

operations.

The WISE Assessment Module can automatically as-

sess the ability of the trainee to undertake a particular

task. The result of the assessment can be output in a

format which may be used individual, or the company

WISE INTELLIGENT SYSTEM

WISE Cargo incorporates the same realistic

simulation software as the multi-station system,

but by incorporating the WISE Intelligent Systems

Technology the simulator is able to be used safely and

productively by a student. WISE Cargo uses a highly

advanced form of artificial intelligence to monitor the

students and the operations theyre learning.

The simulator provides feedback to the student based

on the developing scenario; the feedback is similar to

that provided by a human instructor. The monitoringand feedback concentrate particularly on training,

safety and perational efficiency. An extensive online

information library is linked to the software. WISE

Cargo and the linked library together allow a student

to learn how to use liquid cargo handling systems

safely and efficiently without the need for external

input.

TRAINING MODULES

WISE Cargo has basic training courses for particularvessel types. The courses present the various oper-

tions and guide the students from basic to advanced

levels of learning. WISE Cargo also makes sure that

the students have the required prerequisite knowledge

to make the training useful. WISE Cargo can also

track and log students progress through the course to

create full training records.
