About Marin Theatre Company Founded in 1966, Marin Theatre Company is the Bay Area’s premier mid-sized theater and the leading professional theater in the North Bay. We produce a 6-show season of provocative plays by passionate playwrights from the 20th century and today in our intimate 231-seat proscenium theater. We are committed to the development and production of new plays by American playwrights. We also offer a 5-play theater series for young audiences. Our numerous educational programs serve over 6,000 students each year. MTC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. About our audience In our 2013-14 season, over 30,000 people will attend about 175 performances from August 2013 to June 2014. These people are:

From all over the Bay Area: 48% of our audience is from Marin County, 19% from San Francisco and 15% from the East Bay.

Well educated: 94% of our audience has a college degree Affluent: 70% of our audience has annual income above the state median ($58K) and

43% make over $100,000 a year. 87% own at least one home. Older and active: 51% of our audience is over 65 years old. Our audience obviously loves

to go the theater, but our patrons also regularly go to museums and galleries (70%), attend live music and movies (over 60%) and visit wineries, resorts and spas (20%).

Restaurant patrons: 54% of our audience dine out once or more a week.

About the playbill Each MTC playbill is written, designed, edited and published by MTC. Our patrons not only read the playbills in our theater but many also bring these keepsakes home to read and display.
