Maria Sharapova is a Russian professional tennis player. She was born on April 19 in 1987. She is 1.88 m.

Sharapova made her professional breakthrough in 2004 at the age of 17, when she defeated defending champion and top seed Serena Williams in the 2004 Wimbledon final for her first Grand Slam singles title.

She entered the top of the WTA rankings with the win. Then , she won the US Open in 2006, the Australian Open in 2008, the French Open in 2012. She has 29 WTA victory.She is World No.3.

Sharapova carried the flag for Russia during the opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics. She lost in the final to Serena Williams to take the silver medal.
