Su padre pastor y su madre maestra, se exilian de España y se refugian en Argentina en 1949. El 25 de diciembre de 1950, nace María Amaral y en 1967, le toca a ella conocer el exilio junto a su familia. Francia los recibe en Estrasburgo. Ingresa en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de París, y obtiene el Diploma Superior de Artes plásticas. El expresionismo alemán, Munch, Van Gohg, el periodo azul de Picasso y sobre todo Kâte Kollwitz, así como los grandes pintores latinoamericanos, Guayasamin, Siqueiros, Rivera, Carpani y Lam, fueron sus primeras fuentes de inspiración en técnica y modo de expresión. Se aleja de los movimientos estéticos de los años 70 para acercarse a la realidad insoportable que viven los seres humanos, María Amaral se dedica a describir el alma latinoamericana: sus raices, sus mestizajes y sus sufrimientos.
His father, pastor and her mother teacher, was exiled from Spain and took refuge in Argentina in 1949. On December 25, 1950, is born Maria Amaral and in 1967, it's up to her to know exile with his family. France receives in Strasbourg. He joined the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, and obtained the Higher Diploma in Visual Arts. German Expressionism, Munch, Van Gogh, Picasso's blue period and especially Kate Kollwitz, and the great Latin American painters, Guayasamin, Siqueiros, Rivera, Carpani and Lam, were his first inspiration in technique and mode of expression. Away from the aesthetic movements of the 70 to approach the unbearable reality that human beings live, Maria Amaral is devoted to describe the American soul: their roots, their breed and their suffering.
