Roles and Responsibilities at Flextronics:

• Global Procurement Buyer supporting the manufacturing sites located in Aguas (Mexico),

Milpitas(USA)

• Key responsibility is to avoid the line down situation by bringing the adequate parts on time and

expediting the same during bottleneck situation.

• Scrubbing the BOM using CKDB (Component Knowledge Data Base) tool and by coordinating with

the suppliers, planners, component engineers and program managers.

• Ensuring that the MRP runs completely in ERP with the help of Master Production Scheduling

team.

• To receive quotation, negotiate price, create contract and sign up NDA by coordinating with the

Global Commodity Manager and Supply Chain Manager if needed.

• Setting up the STD cost in our system by coordinating with the Supply Chain Manager and

Finance team.

• Responsible to share the purchase requisition report with the team.

• Identifying the opportunity of converting the full lead time part to SMI/CRP program to have the

continuous support on materials.

• Reviewing the supplier’s forecast response, waterfall report and working on the same.

• Coordinating with vendors to ensure regular supply of goods.

• Responsible for doing the item validation on quarterly basis with the suppliers to get the latest

pricing, MOQ, lead time and delivery terms if changed.

• Converting purchase requests to PO’s and issued to the suppliers, following up on the same till

the material is received.

• Optimizing the inventory by cancelling, rescheduling in and out the orders based on the MRP

recommendations.

• Importing all the international shipments on time by providing the necessary documents to the

carrier and import/traffic team if needed.

• Clearing the receiving and invoice challenges on time by coordinating with the warehouse team

and supplier.

• Returning the defective materials from MRB (Material Review Board) area to the supplier by

coordinating with the Quality and Inspection team.

• Resolving the supplier’s payment issues by co-ordinating with the Accounts Payable team.

• Identifying the opportunity to reduce MOQ, lead time and price of the parts by negotiating or

developing new vendors for cost saving.

• Depleting the excess and obsolete inventory to improve the Inventory Turn Over (ITO).

• Conducting trainings for vendors to educate them about handling the PO’s and invoices in

Flextronics Service and Vendor Portals via WEBEX conference call.

• Negotiating with Vendors on accepting the payment terms as per the company policy.

• Ensuring compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and company policy.
