Graduation Requirements:

1.0 PE Credits needed

•Variety of PE options offered:• Outdoor Ed• Band (.5 PE credit earned during first 9 weeks)• Color Guard (same as Band)• Athletics (Fall is a State credit/Spring is Local)• JROTC (.5 PE credit earned per 18 weeks)• Cheerleading• Drill Team• Sports Training (NOT Sports Medicine 1)• External PE (fee & application required)

STAAR Requirements:

•Algebra 1- gr 9

•Biology- gr 9

•English 1- gr 9

•English 2- gr 10

•US History- gr 11

GPA Calculation• 9 wk avg of 90% x 1.2 = 108 Level 3 GPA course

AP courses, AP World Language, Dual Credit, ACDEC

• 9 wk avg of 90% x 1.15 = 103.5 Level 2 GPA course

P/AP courses & World Language courses (reg & P/AP)

• 9 wk avg of 90% x 1.1 = 99 Level 1 GPA courseRegular Core Classes

GPA calculated after each nine weeks.

No Class Rank until 10th grade.

AP Humanities• A year-long class

• Combines Pre-AP English I & AP Human Geography

• Service Project/ 20 hours

AP Biology● Offered on Marcus 9 campus, pending enough students

request the course● All-Year course yielding 2.0 credits

● Two “flex days” per week

● Flex day options:

○ home vs. on campus

● Can watch & re-watch instructional videos

● Fosters ongoing communication w/teacher & promotes

time management

● 8th gr teacher signature required

After STAAR testing in April:

• Four-year planning to occur with MS counselor.

• Course verification & final edits to Freshmen course selections.

• Freshmen Orientation date announced.

MARAUDER CAMP: Orientation

•Will be held in August, a few days before school begins.

•Chance to walk schedules & learn about day to day life at Marcus9.

•Sign up for after school clubs.

•Date will be announced before school ends.
