It all starts with the preparation of stressing the wood; cor-roded to bring out every fibre and every essence of char-acter. Pigments are transparent, letting the natural tone and

personality of every wood emerge. To underline the poetry of colour is a matt gloss with a soft touch re-enforced with beeswax.

ideata nel lontano 1985 dal fondatore di questa falegnameria d’arte, il signor Gianni Marchetti, che dopo due anni di sperimentazioni e prove mise in produzi-one una libreria completamente innova-tiva per la sua flessibilità e facilità nella personalizzazione.nuovo fu inoltre il concetto per il calcolo del prezzo della libreria che viene con-teggiato ad assi al metro lineare, intro-ducendo il concetto della libreria a misura e togliendo il sovraprezzo del su misura.Già alla fine degli anni ’80 fu un tal suc-cesso da modificare il ciclo produttivo della falegnameria per adeguarlo alle esigenze di questa parete at trezzata che prevede il premontaggio al grezzo. più volte rinnovata, nel 2004 furono presen-tate le nuove interpretazioni della mitica fG 200 tra cui eccelle la composizione 111 bis con l’armadiet to natUra.

Created in 1985 by the founder of this carpentry workshop of art, Mr. Gianni Marchetti, who after two years of experiments and tests, put into production a library completely new in its ability to transform itself to per-sonal requirements and requests.Also, new the concept for calculating the price of the library which was priced per meter. Introducing the concept of eliminating the made to mea-sure price for a more convenient unit price.Even at the beginning of the 80’s there was such a huge success that pro-duction had to be modified to cope with the requests, seeing as this article needs to be premounted in the raw stage. Many times re-newed, in 2004 were presented the new version of the famous FG 200, amongst the best seller is composition 111 bis with “NATURA” cabi-net.

primi quarant’anni.nel 1968 un giovane, ma esperto artigiano del legno e dell’arredo d’arte con un passato da restaura-tore decide di fondare il Mobilifi-cio d’arte Marchetti. il suo nome era Gianni Marchetti e in pochi anni portò l’azienda ad emergere per originalità ed eccellenza. 20 settembre 2009 la data decisa per festeggiare i primi quarant’anni della Marchetti ed inaugurare un nuovo spazio di 1.400 metri qua-dri in due livelli per esporre in tutta la sua forza le nuove collezioni. Un progetto rigoroso pieno di luce di spazi aperti, ciò che prevale è l’essenza degli arredi. Un’ ampia area scandita da setti in cemento a vista è stata allestita con le cu-cine acquacotta che anticipa le nuove collezioni 2010, dall’incon-fondibile carattere, sottolineato da una scelta sapiente ed accurata di complementi d’arredo. l’atmosfera marocchina circondata da luci colorate e torce infuocate incorniciano la serata esprimendo una visone di stile ed eleganza.

The first forty years.In 1968 a young and inexperienced furniture carpenter with a back ground as a restorer decided to establish the “Mobilificio d’arte Marchetti”. His name was Gianni Marchetti. It only took a couple of years and the com-pany was at the peak, known for its originality and excellent quality.On the 20th of September 2009 to celebrate the first forty years of the Marchetti company the opening of a magnificent 1,400 mtq showroom, split over two floors, giving the pos-sibility to present new collections at their very best. A rigorous project, full of light and open spaces, but what captures you is the essence of wood. A vast area divided by naked cement screens has been furnished with Acquacotta kitchens, an antici-pation of the new 2010 collections with their unmistakable character; all emphasized by a wise and careful choice of furniture pieces. The Ma-roccon atmosphere full of coloured lights and fired torches frame the eve-ning, expressing a vision of style and elegance.

I work with and for Marchetti company since the mid-Seventies.A collegue of mine told me that the Marchettis were looking for a sales representative for the Lazio region. I fixed an appointment to introduce myself, and to examine the possibility of working together. Gianni Marchetti gave me an immediate good-first impression. An artisan with a remarkable capability and creativity and at the same time an excellent wood connoisseur and businessman. Designer together with his staff made clean simple Bassano styled walnut furniture.The wish to grow and present new ideas has always been part of the Marchetti way of life during the second half of the eighties

there was a compelling need to grow and develop. For the furniture business times were good, and fair-trade shows where as today an excellent showcase for the company. Among many memories, I remember most particularly the meeting in Rapallo and the trade-fair in Padova, where Gianni for the first time presented the FG 200 bookcase a new way of furnishing a wall. It was too far ahead for its time, immediately it wasn’t appreciated, but later had a huge success.Another nice memory of Gianni was whilst working together during an antiques exhibition within a client shop in Rome. All working ex-periences that together gave birth to a true sincere friendship. The loss of Gianni was devastating for the Marchetti family, for the company, and for everybody who had admired him as a man and businessman.

The Marchetti company after this loss of its founder went through difficult times. Overcome due to the determination of Franca and the loving support of the children, along with the dedication of all employees and friends.Particular merit goes to Giordana Marchetti who started following her father during the various trade-fair at a tender age when she was only a teenager. And in spite of her young age and even less experience, and a thousand doubts has tried and succeeded to carry on the idea of Gianni and innovate the line of Marchetti products with the same creativity and good taste.I am the oldest sales representative of the Marchetti company; I

can’t say where to draw the line between where the job finishes and the friendship with all the family members starts. Franca, Giordana, Maurizio and Federica are people with whom I have divided the most important moments of my working and private life.To establish and grow a relationship like ours it is not easy. For all things of exceptional beauty you need dedication from both sides.In the memory of Gianni and Alessandra always present in our minds full of affection, I come to the conclusion of how far we have come, and how many things that have been accomplished together. It makes me happy when I think how much further and how many more things we can still do together.

lavoro con e per la ditta Marchetti dalla seconda metà degli anni set-tanta.Un collega mi disse che stavano cercando un rappresentante per il lazio. chiamai e presi appuntamento per presentarmi e per vagliare la fattibilità di una collaborazione.Gianni Marchetti mi fece subito una buona impressione. Un artigiano dalle notevoli capacità creative, ottimo conoscitore del legno e anche buon imprenditore. disegnava e insieme ai suoi collaboratori realizzava il classico mobile bassanese in legno di noce, pulito, semplice ed el-egante. la voglia di crescere e proporre idee nuove è sempre stata una caratter-

istica pregnante dei Marchetti. verso la seconda metà degli anni ottanta il desiderio innovativo cominciò a diventare un’esigenza impellente. per il mercato del mobile erano tempi buoni e le fiere, come oggi, erano un’ottima vetrina. tra le tante ricordo in particolare il meeting di rapallo e la fiera di padova dove Gianni presentò per la prima volta quella che ancora oggi, se pur con tutte le sue evoluzioni, rimane il mobile base della ditta Marchetti: la libreria fG 200. Un nuovo modo di attrezzare una parete. fin troppo all’avanguardia per allora, la libreria non venne apprezzata subito ma in seguito ottenne enorme successo. altro bel ricordo del lavoro con Gianni è stata l’esposizione del mobile dell’antiquariato allestita a roma presso il negozio di un cliente. tutte occasioni di lavoro che hanno offerto la possibilità di una conoscenza reciproca più approfondita che ha portato al nascere di una sincera amicizia. la perdita di Gianni Marchetti è stata un grande dolore per la sua

famiglia, per la ditta e per tutti coloro che come me lo hanno sempre stimato come uomo e come professionista.la ditta Marchetti, dopo il venir meno del suo grande ideatore ha attra-versato momenti difficili superati grazie alla determinazione della signora franca supportata dall’amore e le competenze dei suoi figli, dall’affetto dei suoi dipendenti e di quanti ruotano attorno all’azienda. Una nota di particolare merito mi permetto di farla per Giordana Mar-chetti, che ha cominciato a seguire il padre nelle fiere quando era poco più che adolescente. nonostante la giovane età, la poca esperienza e le mille incertezze ha cercato ed è riuscita a portare avanti le idee di Gianni arricchendo e innovando la linea dei prodotti Marchetti con

altrettanta creatività, gusto e fantasia. sono il rappresentante più “anziano” dei Marchetti. non saprei neanche più dire dove finisce il rapporto di lavoro e dove inizia l’amicizia che mi lega ad ogni componente della famiglia. la signora franca, Giordana, Maurizio, federica sono persone con le quali ho condiviso e condivido momenti importanti di vita professionale e non. instaurare, coltivare e far crescere un rapporto come il nostro non è facile. come per tutte le cose belle ci vuole impegno e dedizione da entrambe le parti.anche nel ricordo di Gianni e della cara alessandra, sempre presenti nei nostri pensieri, con affetto ed orgoglio constato quanta strada è stata già fatta e con sempre nuovo entusiasmo mi rallegro al pensiero che ce ne sia ancora tanta da fare.
