The Breakwater Buzz

March 2021Issue 3

The Sun at noon to higher air, Unharnessing the silver Pair

That late before his chariot swam, Rides on the gold wool of the Ram.

So braver notes the storm-cock sings To start the rusted wheel of things,

And brutes in field and brutes in pen Leap that the world goes round again.

The boys are up the woods with day To fetch the daffodils away,

And home at noonday from the hills They bring no dearth of daffodils.

Afield for palms the girls repair, And sure enough the palms are there, And each will find by hedge or pond

Her waiving silver-tufted wand.

In farm and field through all the shire

The eye beholds the heart’s desire

Ah, let not only mine be vain, For lovers should be loved again.

In a large-scale scam erupting in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, imposters are filing claims for unemployment benefits, using the names and

personal information of people who have not filed claims. People learn about the fraud when they get a notice from their state unemployment benefits office.

If this happens to you, it means someone is misusing your personal information, including your Social Security number and date of birth. Here are

steps that can help you protect your finances and your credit:

Report the fraud to Ken Penny so that the fraud can be reported Ken Penny will be more than happy to help you report this fraud. He will make

the steps easy for you and quickly make sure that this issue is resolved.

Visit identitytheft.gov to report the fraud to the FTC and get help with the next important recovery steps.

Place a free, one-year credit fraud alert on your credit, getting your free credit reports, and closing any fraudulent accounts opened in your name.

IdentityTheft.gov will also help you add a free extended fraud alert or credit freeze to your credit report. These make it more difficult for an identity thief to

open new accounts in your name.

Review your credit reports often For the next year, you can check your reports every week for free through

annualcreditreport.com. This can help you spot any new fraud quickly.

The unemployment payments usually are deposited to accounts the impostors control. But sometimes payments get sent to the real person’s account, instead. If this happens to you, the imposters may call, text, or email to try to get you to

send some or all of the money to them. They may pretend to be your state unemployment agency and they say the money was sent by mistake.

If you get the benefits you never applied for, report it to your state unemployment agency and ask for instructions. Don’t respond to any calls,

emails, or text messages telling you to wire money, send cash, or put money on gift-cards. Your state agency will never tell you to repay money that way.

The cock is crowing. The stream is flowing. The small birds twitter, The lake doth glitter

The green field sleeps in the sun;

The oldest and youngest Are at work with the

strongest; The cattle are grazing,

Their heads never raising; There are forty feeding like

one!

A Poem by William Wadsworth

Like an army defeated The snow hath retreated,

And now doth fare ill On top of the bare hill;

The plowboy is whopping-anon-anon:

There’s joy in the mountains; There’s life in the fountains;

Small clouds are sailing, Blue sky prevailing;

The rain is over and gone!

March Flower & Birthstone Daffodil, Aquamarine & Bloodstone

Daffodil, also known as Jonquil or Narcissus, is often recognized as a yellow flower but other color varieties are white and orange. When giving a daffodil, the message is meant to be received is “you

are an angel”.

Aquamarine & Bloodstone, the stones are very different from one another in

appearance, but each shares a similar symbolism of preserving or enhancing the

health of the wearer.

Library NewsMarch 2021

It’s hard to believe March is upon us and hopefully Spring is right around the corner. As I write this, only 6 of the over 20 newly donated books that we put on the Feature Table in the library have been returned to the table. We know you were excited to see new books but please return the ones you have finished for others to enjoy. Our Feature Table will continue to have more current books that are newly donated. We love all the CURRENT books that you continue donating. Don’t forget to look for the “new to us” paperbacks, which we put right on the Paper Back Rounders.

We continue to look forward to our Rocky River Library Outreach Program to bring us new books when we can once again have visitors. The Rocky River Library books are the only ones that need to be signed out in the “Brown Sign Out Book”. The books we now have from RR were delivered before the holidays and we know you are waiting for new books. Thank you all so much for your continued support & patience.

If you are not able to find any books that interest you in the choices RR has sent us, there is another option the Rocky River Library Outreach Service offers. It provides free delivery and pick up of books to your apartment for residents who are not able to get to the RR Main Library. You can request specific titles and authors or preferences for general categories. Many of our residents use this service. We have information in our library or you can call RR Outreach Service, Carol O’Keefe at 440-895-3755
