The St. Susanna Women's Club is offering two $1000 Scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are members of St. Susanna Parish and will be attending a 2/4 year college in the fall. Interested students may pick up an

application at church from the bulletin located by the ushers closet. Applications are due back on April 9th and winners will be an-nounced at the May Baccalaureate Mass. Questions may be directed to Elaine Dotson at [email protected]. The Women's Club looks forwarding to assisting the students in our parish.

Interested in deepening your faith this Lent? We will be hosting an adult education program during Lent on Sun-days after the 9:00 a.m. Mass. We will be reading the book Rediscov-er Catholicism by Matthew Kelly, and meeting to discuss study questions in small groups. If you are interested in participating in this book study and discussion group, please contact Cathy Moriarty or Ann Swihart. Contact infor-mation is below. Ann Swihart at 317-513-5766 or Cathy Moriarty at 812-371-3518 or by email at [email protected] to register or with any questions. The study will be a six week study beginning Sunday March 3 at 10:05 to 11:10 a.m. in the gathering space of the church. A schedule will be given to participants, will include the readings for each week and the exact dates of the weekly meetings, as Spring Break is also taken into consideration. Books will be ordered for participants at the cost of $3 per book. We hope you will consider joining us for this study to further your Lenten growth and activities.

The Saint Susanna Finance Commission could use your help. We currently have three openings on the Finance Commis-sion and are seeking volunteers. Our mission is to advise and assist the Pastor on matters pertaining to the business and fi-nancial management of the Parish. We strive to carry out that mission by taking into consideration our Catholic values in coordination with the policies and priorities as determined by the Pastor and the Parish Council. You do not have to be an accountant or work in the finance industry to join the commission. We do ask that you have a working knowledge of budgets and finance, are at least 21 years of age, are a registered member of the parish, and are free of any conflict arising from one’s occupation or relation-ship to the Pastor. If you are interested, please contact

Fr. Glenn ([email protected]) or Rich Sinks ([email protected]).

Grow with God Sunday, February 24th, the CLOW youth talked about the Golden Rule. As a group they were able to come up lots of examples of things they did not like others doing to them (tripping, cutting in line, not sharing, saying mean things etc). Miss Ruby made sure the kids under-

stood that as the Golden Rule suggests, do unto others. So, if we don’t like those things, we should also not do those things to others. The kids were very excited to also provide examples of things they do like others doing; smiling, sharing toys, giving compliments, giving hugs. Again, we should do these things for others because they are the kinds of things we would want done to us. This weekend, March 3, we will start to prepare the CLOW group for Lent and remind them of the upcoming changes to the Mass and our lives during Lent. For more information about CLOW, please contact Laura Demerly at [email protected]

CRS Rice Bowls—Encounter Lent Join our faith community—and more than 14,000 Catholic communities across the United Stated—in a Lenten journey of encounter with CRS Rice Bowl. If your family does not have a student in either St. Susanna School or St. Susanna Religious Education, you may pick up a Rice Bowl in the Gathering Space. During the 40 days of Lent, we will encounter the needs of the world. And don’t forget to download the CRS Rice Bowl app!

Daylight Savings Time begins on March 10th. Next Sunday be sure to turn your clocks!

Faith Formation is always looking for friends to work with us and help keep the parish youth in Religious Education safe both Sunday morning and evening. We need vol-unteers in the parking lot as well as in the building moni-toring those that enter the building after class beings. These are simple jobs and a wonderful opportunity to serve and share your time with your parish family. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0848a4a728a4fb6-volunteers

Congratulations to the Saint Susanna youth who re-ceived their sacrament of First Reconciliation on Februaru 28th. As a parish let us continue to pray for these young Catholics as they journey to First Communion of May 4th.

We have a gift to share with you; it’s called a Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend. The Weekend will give you the opportunity to examine your lives together. A time to share your feelings, hopes, joys and frustrations without the interruption of family commitments, TV, internet and phone calls, rather it is a time to get to know your spouse all over again and rediscover your deep love for each other. Future Marriage Encounter Weekends will be at Our Lady of Fatima Retreat House, Indianapolis, from 26-28 April and from 1-3 November 2019, and at Mount Saint Francis Centre for Spiritu-ality, New Albany, from 16-18 August 2019. Visit www.wwme.org for further information. Quote from a couple who made a Worldwide Marriage En-counter Weekend: “Thank you for the most rewarding Weekend of our lives. We are looking eagerly to many ex-citing years together. We wish every young couple could have a Marriage Encounter Weekend.”
