Mission Statement
Piedmont Community Charter School is a tuition free K-12 school that offers a superior college preparatory education option for this community and its families.

Why Conduct a Lottery?
● A lottery is required by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction if the total number of applications received exceeds the number of seats available.
● The new student lottery application period is January 4 - March 3o, 2021.
● Lottery will be broadcast live and will also be recorded & archived.

Lotterease
● Lotterease is a software program designed for schools that manages applications, runs the lottery, and maintains the waitlist.
● Parents create an account to submit the application and use that account to track their student’s place in the lottery and waitlist, if applicable.
● If parents already have an account, they can log in to their account and then enroll their children into the correct (next year) grade level lottery.
● Parents without internet access can make an appointment to come in to fill out an application.

● Enrollease is a software program designed for Lotterease users that manages enrollment documents and accepts and transfers documents securely online.
● Once students are selected and confirmed, parents will receive a link allowing them to access to PCCS’s enrollment forms, fill out the forms electronically, scan or take a picture of required enrollment documents, and add an electronic signature.

● Tier 1 - priority enrollment for children of staff members
● Tier 2 - priority enrollment for siblings of currently enrolled students

,● Tier 3 - priority enrollment for siblings selected during the lottery○ New this year - Per NCGS 115C-218.45(f), once a student
is selected for any grade level, their siblings who are tied by surname (student applications listed in the same parent account) will automatically be placed at the top of the list for their grade level, just below Tier 1 and Tier 2 applicants.

Next Steps for Admitted Students
● Enrollment paperwork will be accessible through the Enrollease link after signing in to your Lotterease account.
● Completed enrollment packets must be submitted by 3:00 pm on Friday, April 16. PCCS will be closed for Spring Break from Friday, April 2 until Sunday, April 11th.
● Kindergarten students and students new to public schools only will have until the 1st day of school to return the health assessment form to us. All other completed forms in the enrollment packet are due by 3:00 on Friday, April 16.

Next Steps for Admitted Students
● Birth certificates must be the original birth certificate or a certified copy obtained from the county in which your child was born. Scans or photocopies of birth certificates will be accepted through the Enrollease secure site.
● You will need to upload scans or copies of your North Carolina Drivers License, or two other forms of proof of NC residency (as defined in your enrollment packet).

Waitlisted Students
● If your student is waitlisted and a seat becomes available, you will receive an email from Lotterease.
● The email will contain a link to confirm or decline the spot, a link directing you to Enrollease for completing enrollment documents, and due dates for completing enrollment documentation.
● You can track your student’s place on the waitlist by logging into your Lotterease account.
