Seder Celebration with Mass

in the Parish Hall Followed by Soup & Salad

Get your tickets NOW - after Sat & Sun Masses ...for this special celebration. Seder Soup & Salad $6 for adults ($3 for kids 5 yrs old or younger). No tickets will be sold at the door.

The Seder involves a ritual meal which commemorates the events of the Exo-dus. Its purpose is to pass on to future generations the story of the Exodus, the central event in Jewish history. As Christians, our own spiritual roots are also connected to this meal since it was celebrated by Jesus at the Last Supper when he instituted the Eucharist, thus passing on and re-enacting the central event of Christianity—the life, death, and resurrection of Christ.

No Soup & Salad on Wed. April 10.

Lenten Mission Holy Week Retreat The Paschal Mystery

As Vital Light and Might

April 15-17 — in the Church presented by Fr. Pio Estepa, SVD

3 days exploring “The Paschal Mystery”. Each Mission Day starts with 8:00am Mass in the Church. The Mission topics are:

• Monday, April 15 • Mass 8:00am • Mission Presentations: 9am & 7pm FAITH AS VIA CRUCIS (Way of the Cross)

• Tuesday, April 16 • Mass 8:00am • Mission Presentations: 9am & 7pm HOPE AS RISUS PASCHALIS (Easter Laughter)

• Wednesday, April 17 • Mass 8:00am • Mission Presentation: 9am (No 7pm) THE SEDER AS ‘EUCHARIST’ (Thanksgiving)

The Paschal Mystery—after every Eucharistic consecration of bread and wine, what we proclaim as the “mystery of faith” is what we most solemnly celebrate during the Holy Week –from Passion Sunday to Easter Sunday.

From Holy Monday to Wednesday, you are most welcome to join our parish community in reflecting anew on the Paschal Mystery:

• What meaningful light (why) can it shed on our journey from womb to tomb?

• And what sustaining might (how) can it give to our “pursuit of happiness”?

“One who has a why to live for,” so affirms a German adage, “can bear with almost any how.”

God Forgives The Lord said to Joshua, “Today I have removed the reproach of Egypt from you.” After forty years of wan-dering in the desert, this hard-headed people have finally reached the Promised Land. No more do they eat the manna in the desert, but they par-take of the fruits of their new home-land. God has kept the promise to their parents in Egypt. Even though they were a sinful people, many times questioning God and even worshiping false gods, God has forgiven them and fulfilled the promise. The “take-away” for us is that there is no sin that is unforgivable. We may have offended our neighbors, given a bad example to someone, even wor-shiped the false gods of money and power. But God is a merciful God, true to the words spoken to us. God forgives all and calls us back to love.

Dios Perdona
