Dear Family, Every day, I try to read the scriptures. I am especially drawn to Psalm 148, 149, & 150, which calls all of creation and people to Praise God. I am always lifted up by thinking of the stars and planets, the trees and animals, the flowers and all fish in the ocean praising the Lord. Everything praises its Creator. We,
however, as God’s creation, have a choice because of our free will to praise God or not. Each Eucharistic Mass is a perfect form of praising our Father because Jesus offers himself to us in our suffering and sinfulness to the Father once again in the Holy Mass. His shed blood wipes away all sin and the effects of sin forever. There is not a more holy moment in our lives when we gather as God’s family and celebrate Mass together. As Fr. Justin would sing at every consecration, “Come let us adore Him!”
I invite you to watch a five-part miniseries called “The Bible” from success-ful producer, Mark Burnett. The show premieres on the History Channel starting March 3rd at 8 pm ET. The word of God is so important for all of us to be nourished. Watch it come to life!
In the Lord’s Love, Fr. Jim Curtin

March 3, 2013
Lent is a call to action; a time for pruning; a time to cut away the unwanted negative thoughts and misdeeds that keep us from loving God and our neighbor as we should. Our branches need to be cut back so that we will produce with greater abundance the fruits of the Kingdom of God.
“In the Church’s liturgy the divine blessing is
fully revealed and communicated. The Father is
acknowledged and adored as the source and the
end of all the blessings of creation and salva-
tion. In his Word who became incarnate, died,
and rose for us, he fills us with his blessings.
Through his Word, he pours into our hearts the
Gift that contains all gifts, the Holy
Spirit.” (CCC, n. 1082) Walking With Faith Cross
“For we walk by faith, not by sight” 2 Corinthians 5:7
We would like to introduce the
Waling With Faith Cross. It has the same concept as the Giving
Tree at Christmas, but only shoes are purchased for those in need
and they do not need to be wrapped. Please attach the tag that
you take from the cross to the shoes you purchase and place them
under the cross. The shoes will benefit those at the Daybreak
Shelter, Lamb’s Fold, Vilaseca Day Care Center and the Guardian
Angel Home. All shoes must be placed under the Walking With
Faith Cross by Sunday, March 24th. As always, thank you for your
generosity and support to those in need this Lenten season.
