Some more News from Hahgoot

On top of her Jewish studies and Homework, Hahgoot also keeps up with her correspondence duties!

Hahgoot plans to make a movie about her life one day, so she designed the

props already...

In her pretend play, Hahgoot made a “robot doll”, which was a clever idea.

Hahgoot still has some meltdowns, but their severity has decreased greatly (here you can see Alma trying

to calm her down during an afternoon meltdown).

We still see lovely Carly every two weeks, and they both have a great time (right).

The motor and sensory issues seem to be under control these days and constantly improving, so we can concentrate on communication,

emotional connection and empathy at the sessions and at home.

Alma likes to come to the sessions too, but usually Barak takes her out for a stroll and a

nap so I can focus on Hahgoot.

After the sessions we usually go to Burwood for

lunch and shopping

Two days before Hahgoot’s 6th birthday she got a new bed with a trundle underneath!Although we prepared her for the change for a long time, and she came to the shop with us to

choose the bed, when it was in her room she refused to sleep in it for 5 days!

Eventually she got convinced that she will not fall out of it and that she is able to climb in and out of it by herself and was willing to sleep in it. Now she loves it, but it was quite a transition period...

Actually, it was one of the shortest transition blocks we had in a long time. Took me 4 years to convince her to stop using the toilet cover and 6 years to get her to take the plug out of the bath!
