Hello Residents,
Do you ever stop and wonder if you are giving your all? In a world with so much chaos, we should always be giving our all. I encour-age each of you to take March and get to know to your neighbors. Invite them down for coffee, to an activity, or even a friendly game of cards. Take time for each other and make conversation. My goal for March is to spend quality time with new found friends, including you all. I hope that March is full of bright and happy thoughts.
O taste and see that the Lord is good! Happy is the man who takes refuge in him! — Psalm 34:8, RSV

Our residents were excited about the wine tasting event with Chef Craig. They were able to taste three different wines: Chardonnay, California Red, and a Duplin Muscadine. Along with the wine, we served cheese and crackers. We also had a presentation of how each wine was made on our In2L. There were some residents who did not drink wine, and we had alternatives of grape juice and coffee available for them. All our residents were happy, and shared that they would love to have another event soon. Thanks to all our staff for your help!

Chair yoga is a great way for older adults to get the won-derful health benefits of yoga. Staying seated means that even frail seniors or those who aren’t flexible can safely do the exercises. Yoga is an excellent way for older adults to loosen and stretch painful muscles, reduce stress, and improve circulation.

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT
Can you believe it? In just a couple of weeks spring begins on the 20th. Seems
like just a few days ago we were ringing in the new year. There’s an old saying
“time sure flies” and it does, doesn’t it? Seasons change but there is one thing
that never changes, and that is our Lord’s Word. Every year millions of people
do spring cleaning to get rid of things they don’t need anymore. Today I am
reminded of how God’s people often need to do spiritual inventory and clean
ourselves up. 1 John 1:9 teaches us that if we will confess our sins to the Lord,
He will be Faithful to cleanse us of our sins. May each of us be reminded
daily to go to our Lord and allow him to clean us up. May God’s blessings be
upon each of you.

FUN FACTS
» March was named for the Roman god of war, Mars. Traditionally, this was the time of year to resume mili-tary campaigns that had been interrupted by winter.
» To coincide with Women’s History Month in 2011, the White House issued a 50-year progress report on the status of women in the United States. It found that younger women are now more likely than their male counterparts to hold college degrees, and that the num-ber of men and women in the labor force has nearly equalized.
» International Women’s Day was honored for the first time in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland on March 19th, 1911.
» Internationally, purple is a color that symbolizes women.
» March is the only month in the year with a unique name consisting of three consecutive consonants.
» In ancient Rome, before Julius Caesar’s calendar reform, March was the first month of the year.
» The expression “mad as a March hare” dates back to 1529. It refers to the wild behavior of male hares during the mating season in March.
