CHRIST CHURCHOrder for the Worship of God
The Lord’s Day • March 1, 2015
Welcome & Silent Preparation The Rev. Mr. Fred Greco
PRAISE
Call to Worship* Psalm 96:1-4 * Worshippers are asked to stand if possible
Minister: Oh sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth! Sing to the LORD, bless His name; tell of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods.
Prayer of Adoration* The Rev. Dr. Duncan Rankin
Hymn of Praise #441* “Jesus Shall Reign”
Affirmation of Faith Isa 49:6; Isa 52:7; Mt 24:14; Mt 28:19-20
Minister: It is too light a thing that you should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth.
People: How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of Him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.”
“God will have His grace made known to all the world, and His gospel preached to all creatures. Therefore, we
must endeavour, as much as possible, to
persuade those who are strangers to the faith, and seem to be utterly deprived of the
goodness of God, to accept of salvation.”
(John Calvin)

Minister: And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
All: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
CONFESSION
Hymn of Confession #437 “O God, to Us Show Mercy”
Corporate Confession of Sin
Holy God, You dwell in unapproachable light, but You have graciously shined Your light on us sending Jesus, Your son to save us. We believe in Him but too often we seek to flee from the light. Too often we have attempted to hide our sins rather than confessing them to You. We ask your forgiveness for our resistant attitudes. We ask Your forgiveness for the time and energy wasted in seeking to justify ourselves by blaming others. We ask your forgiveness for the sins we silently confess to You now.
Private Confession of Sin
Assurance of Pardon Micah 7:18-19
Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of His inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because He delights in steadfast love. He will again have compassion on us; He will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.
