Marc Anthony’s Painting Strokes Past Stavole’s Warriors Kevin Smith - 11-12 Baseball League Director July 15, 2013 PARMA HEIGHTS – It certainly was not a pitchers’ duel as 21 of the 25 players reached base. In the end Marc Anthony’s Painting stroked past Stavole’s Warriors 14-6 on Monday night at Kurtz Park. John Hoehn led the offensive charge for Marc Anthony’s Painting with six runs batted in. Hoehn finished a home run short of the cycle. Marc Anthony’s Painting took control of the game with a monster second inning. Cody Chervenak walked to start the inning and stole second base and third base. Dominick Sawyer followed suit with a walk and stole second base. Tyler Maluk then walked to load the bases. Jaydon Coyne, Brady Karpus and Justin Haverdill brought runs in during the inning with walks before Hoehn plated three runs with a double to left-center. Brnadon Skory added in infield single for the final run of the inning. Not to be outdone was Stavole’s Warriors who posted a 5-run first inning. Tobyn Hill and Luke Zupancic walked to start the inning before Logan Zimmer was hit by a pitch. Brandon Trocano, Liam McCormick and Timmy Dawson walked to bring three of the five runs across to score. Evan Thompson drove in Trocano and McCormick when he laced a double down the rightfield line. Marc Anthony’s Painting struck first with a 3-run first inning. J. Haverdill and Jacob Herbster led off the game with back-to-back walks. Marc Anthony’s Painting Strokes Past Stavole’s Warriors

PARMA HEIGHTS – It certainly was not a pitchers’ duel as 21 of the 25 players

reached base. In the end Marc Anthony’s Painting stroked past Stavole’s Warriors

14-6 on Monday night at Kurtz Park.

John Hoehn led the off ensive charge for Marc Anthony’s Painting with six runs

batted in. Hoehn fi nished a home run short of the cycle.

Marc Anthony’s Painting took control of the game with a monster second

inning. Cody Chervenak walked to start the inning and stole second base and

third base. Dominick Sawyer followed suit with a walk and stole second base.

Tyler Maluk then walked to load the bases. Jaydon Coyne, Brady Karpus

and Justin Haverdill brought runs in during the inning with walks before

Hoehn plated three runs with a double to left-center. Brnadon Skory added in

infi eld single for the fi nal run of the inning.

Not to be outdone was Stavole’s Warriors who posted a 5-run fi rst inning. Tobyn

Hill and Luke Zupancic walked to start the inning before Logan Zimmer

was hit by a pitch. Brandon Trocano, Liam McCormick and Timmy Dawson

walked to bring three of the fi ve runs across to score. Evan Thompson drove in

Trocano and McCormick when he laced a double down the rightfi eld line.

Marc Anthony’s Painting struck fi rst with a 3-run fi rst inning. J. Haverdill and

Jacob Herbster led off the game with back-to-back walks. Hoehn blasted a

triple to right center which brought both runs in to score. Hoehn scored on a

throw to retire Skory on a dropped third strike.

Marc Anthony’s Painting added two insurance runs in the third and fourth

inning.

Chervenak and Sawyer notched back-to-back singles to start the inning before

Maluk walked. Chervenak came in to score on Robert Maniaci’s groundout to

the pitcher. Sawyer scored the second run of the inning by stealing home.

Herbster brought J. Haverdill in to score for Marc Anthony’s Painting in the

fourth inning before coming around to score on Hoehn’s single.

Stavole’s Warriors added a run in the sixth inning. James Workman came in to

score on a fi elding error. Dominic Stavole also reached base in the inning via a

hit by pitch.

The duo of J. Haverdill and Skory held Stavole’s Warriors to just one hit. However

Stavole’s Warriors did have 12 total baserunners for the game.

Chris Haverdill had two hits while Aaron Kozickie drew a walk for Marc

Anthony’s Painting.

Zakary Ferrari added a walk for Stavole’s Warriors while Nathan Potoczak

had three putouts.

Tyler Wallace added a putout for Marc Anthony’s Painting.

Playing in the game but not registering any hits our putouts was Matt Wolf for

Stavole’s Warriors.

Danny Brennan and Connor McDonough are also members of Stavole’s

Warriors.
