Dear Parents /Guardians: Our Lenten journey towards Easter begins on Ash Wednesday. During Lent it is important to remember to not just “give something up”, but rather to focus on “doing something” for others. Giving of ourselves, sharing our time, talents or skills, is yet another way to build community and bring us closer to God. Lent is a time to remind us of how one kind deed at a time brings us closer to being the person that God wants us to be. Simple acts of kindness bring great joy to others and fill our own hearts with love. Please join us on Wednesday, March 6th at 11am for our Ash Wednesday Liturgy with Fr. Rony. Thank you to our FSL & Heritage Departments for organizing the liturgy. During the Month of March, we celebrate the virtue of perseverance. Perseverance is being persistent with a task in spite of challenges, difficulties or obstacles. Perseverance is not giving up but continuing to put forth an effort until the goal is achieved. God of the Journey, walk with us this Lent. Help us to persevere in staying with you On the journey through Lent to Easter. Amen. In March we continue to look forward to the many learning opportunities planned for the students. Kindergarten registration also continues. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable March Break from the 12th to the 16th. In honour of St. Patrick’s Day, we share with you a special Irish blessing: May God give you… For every storm, a rainbow; for every tear, a smile, For every care, a promise, And a blessing in each trial. Dear Parents /Guardians:

Our Lenten journey towards Easter begins on Ash Wednesday. During Lent it is

important to remember to not just “give something up”, but rather to focus on “doing

something” for others. Giving of ourselves, sharing our time, talents or skills, is yet

another way to build community and bring us closer to God. Lent is a time to remind

us of how one kind deed at a time brings us closer to being the person that God

wants us to be. Simple acts of kindness bring great joy to others and fill our own hearts

with love. Please join us on Wednesday, March 6th at 11am for our Ash Wednesday

Liturgy with Fr. Rony. Thank you to our FSL & Heritage Departments for organizing the

liturgy.

During the Month of March, we celebrate the virtue of perseverance. Perseverance is

being persistent with a task in spite of challenges, difficulties or obstacles.

Perseverance is not giving up but continuing to put forth an effort until the goal is

achieved.

God of the Journey, walk with us this Lent.

Help us to persevere in staying with you

On the journey through Lent to Easter. Amen.

In March we continue to look forward to the many learning opportunities planned for

the students. Kindergarten registration also continues. We wish everyone a safe and

enjoyable March Break from the 12th to the 16th. In honour of St. Patrick’s Day, we

share with you a special Irish blessing:

soul and remind me of the grace of simplicity.

Enlarge my heart so that I give to those in need and, in so doing, rediscover

the grace of gratitude and generosity.

May this season be a grace-filled time to rekindle my love for and faith in you.

Amen

Tennis Fair @ OLF

OLF students from Kindergarten to Grade 3

participated in another successful Tennis Fair hosted

by Love4Tennis with head coach Julia Kedrzycki. The

program is a fantastic FUN way to encourage

children to get active and learn how to play tennis.

Thank you Love4Tennis Academy for offering this

program to our students and the Phys Ed Department

for planning the Tennis Fair.

Parking Lot Safety

Please be reminded that in an effort to increase safety for everyone in our school community the “Kiss N’ Ride”

loop in front of the school is reserved for buses only between 8:30am—9:00am and 3:30pm—4:00pm. It is

absolutely prohibited to drive through the loop during this time.

Also, we have noticed that there have been instances where cars have entered the loop against the flow of

traffic. Please note that this loop is restricted to ONE WAY traffic only. Please do not park at either end of the

driveway as this obstructs the flow of traffic making it dangerous for students walking home from school.

Remember that Handicapped Parking Stalls are available, but reserved for vehicles with permits only. It is also

PROHIBITED to park in the Parking lot at the beginning or end of the school day as spots are limited and re-

served for school Staff only.

We thank you in advance for helping to make our

school community safer for the children entrusted to

our care.

Please share this information with any family members

or friends that are providing transportation for your

children.
