February is Hilltopper Kindness Month
We invite you to join Chardon High School students and staff as they continue their mission to Actively Care 4 People (AC4P) through simple intentional acts of kindness. Throughout the month of February CHS is hosting various kindness initiatives in memory of Danny, Russell and Demetrius AND to honor all of the people who con-tinue to help us build a more caring world. There are several ways to participate and we encourage you to be a part of our kindness team.
Shoe Challenge
We’ve partnered with Thinkkindness.org where we’ve been challenged to collect 2,000 pairs of gently used shoes in just 15 days! With shoes, we are able to create the visual representation that when one act of kindness is done in solidarity, with an entire student body, we can truly change the world - from the feet up! All of the shoes collected will be distributed to those in need. Twenty percent of these shoes will stay right here in the local community and the other 80% will be distributed by the Think Kindness team in developing countries. Please help us meet and exceed our goal. Shoes can be dropped off at Maple Elementary through the 19th.
Teens for Jeans
Did you know that one in three homeless people in the USA are under the age eighteen? One of the items these kids need most is a pair of jeans. YOU can make a difference by checking your closet for a pair of jeans that don’t fit you anymore. Kindly donate those gently worn jeans and we will deliver to Aero-postale as part of its national campaign to help teens who are less fortunate. Drop off at Maple Ele-mentary School through the 19th

A NOTE from PTO: Every year we try and come up with some new ideas to keep things fresh and new. This year we were hoping to pull together a talent
show with the students at Maple. Unfortunately there was just not
enough interest to make it a feasible event. We apologize for any
disappointment to the students that may have been looking forward
to this event. We encourage those students to utilize “Ham Day” in
music class. If there is enough interest in the future we may
re-visit this idea. Thank you for understanding.
T he phone directories have
arrived! There will be one sent
home with the oldest child of
each Maple family. Be sure to
keep a look out for it! Any questions

Thank you for your patience!
