Conservation Hill and Rhyll Inlet 1.2km to 4km return Comprising tranquil mangroves and mudflats, this wetland area is world renowned for its importance to migratory and resident birds. You can learn more about this area through interpretive signage along the walkways and three colour coded tracks. Oswin Roberts Reserve 1.1km to 4.5km return This area of remnant eucalyptus woodland, is a sanctuary for wallabies, echidnas, owls and bats. Take a relaxing stroll or cycle along the tracks and learn about the area through information shelters and signage along the path. Woolamai Safety Beach 2.5km one way A one hour beach walk back towards the bridge. Views across to the fishing boats at the San Remo jetty. Access to the beach is from Cottesloe Avenue in Cape Woolamai. Cape Woolamai Varies from 4km to 8km Spectacular views of Phillip Island and the surrounding coastline. Between October and April, this area is home to thousands of shearwaters. All walks start from the information shelter at the car park, then follow the beach to the left for approximately one kilometre. Cape Woolamai Surf Beach to the Colonnades 2km one way A one hour walk from the Cape Woolamai Surf Beach carpark to the Colonnades. Forrest Caves 2km return Forrest Caves (sea caves formed by erosion) are located just before the Surf Beach Estate, left off the main Phillip Island Road. Walk up the steps from the car park on to the beach, then turn left. The caves are only accessible at low tide. Ventnor Beach Walk 2.5km one way A half hour walk along the beach. Access is gained from the Esplanade off Grossard Point Road. Kitty Miller Bay 2km return A 1 hour walk from Kitty Miller Bay carpark to the east along the beach. This will take you to the site of the wreck of the “Speke”. This walk is best done at low tide. Pyramid Rock to Berrys Beach 5km return Pyramid Rock is one of Phillip Island’s southern-most points. Boardwalks take you to viewing platforms that allow you to immerse yourself in this stunning coastal landscape. Swan Lake Trail 1.3km return Walk to two viewing hides for great bird watching. The easy walk is approximately 1.3km in length and takes about 40 min. return. The trail starts from the car park on Ventnor Road, 400 metres west of Back Beach Road (near the Penguin Parade) The Nobbies The Nobbies, at the western tip of Phillip Island, offers spectacular views along Phillip Island’s southern coast. Wander along the boardwalks to the amazing blowhole. The boardwalks take you through the breeding colonies of seabirds including Little Penguins and Silver Gulls.
