;ne of the least deeloped countries of southeastern Africa is a place called

"alawi$ In a ery rural section of "alawi is a little illage known as %epo (illage$

It is here that a fine young &an na&e Chiso&o 8'ewa grew up and still lies$

/hile chatting on a social &edia network site? Chiso&o &entioned how &uch he

wanted to help his illage rise aboe the constant poerty that it was facing$ A

place where children were continually going hungry$

Be had this beautiful drea& of seeing his illage beco&e self-sufficient and an

e=a&ple to other co&&unities of "alawi$ Be was one person deter&ined to help

&ake changes for the better in the lies of others$

Chiso&o was especially concerned about the children of %epo (illage$ So &uch

sadness on the faces of so &any orphans$ Children forgotten by the rest of the

world? who lost their parents through disease$

Chiso&os internet friend was inspired by this young &ans desire to do so&ething

to help heal the sadness and fear that engulfed the children of %epo (illage$ The

young grand&other? liing in Canada? was the first of &any arth Angels that

beca&e a part of the pro'ect Sowing the seeds of loe ! "alawi$# /ith her help

the pro'ect got its start with an internet web site she created$

Chiso&o called this new friend Agogo Angela#$ Be now considered her one of

his elders$ /ith her help and constant encourage&ent? the pro'ect was able to pushforward to beco&e an official non-profit organiDation in "alawi$

Gonations to the pro'ect were slow in co&ing but Chiso&o didnt gie up hope$

Be felt in his heart that there has to be other indiiduals in the world who could be

willing to help change the lies of these children for the better$ Chiso&o drea&ed

constantly of a building that would be built to house all the orphans$ A place for

the& to be safe and to learn a trade to help the& surie$

%epo (illage has a total of 2 orphans$ Gue to the early deaths of their parents 5 of

these children were forced to beco&e the head of their ho&es$

A&ongst the illage orphans is a 10 year old boy na&ed Jondwani$ .ike so &any

other children? he lost both of his parents to BI(+AIGS? at the tender age of 3$Since then Jondwani has been liing with his sick grand&other? who can barely

care for herself$

Jondwani translated into nglish &eans n'oy#? but this poor childs life has not

known 'oy$ Be is unable to get ahead in school because he does not hae the

necessary resources? such as proper clothes? soap to bathe with and school supplies$

Jondwanis &isery does not go away but gets worse because he is bullied andbeaten by older boys while he searches for so&ething to eat$ "any ti&es he has

gone to sleep without a single &eal for the day$

Sharing the sa&e hardship proble&s of not haing the needed &aterials to go to

school is a year old boy na&ed Gickens$ Gickens is truly his brothers keeper$

Through the loss of his parents he is forced to be head of his house$ Be protects

and proides for his two younger brothers 9ohn and Talandira$

This s&all childs drea&s of beco&ing a pilot are clouded by his constant worry

about keeping his brothers fed and safe$ ;ne night a snake entured into the ho&e

where they lie and it was through the grace of Kod that they did not get hurt$ 8otonly is hunger a big proble& for the& but security is also so&ething they face

because there is no real door to their ho&e$

Another young child caring for others is 12 year old .inda$ .inda not only has toworry about her sister and little brother? but she also helps care for her grandfather

whose legs are nu&b? preenting hi& fro& getting around$ /ith taking on this

adult like responsibility? .inda had to drop out of school giing up on her drea&s$

Another sad situation is that of Chiso&os young friend na&ed .a&eck$ .a&eck

is 'ust 1 years old$

So far these children hae not had the chance to see the world as other childrenwith the e=cite&ent of slowly growing up$ They do not get to learn to lie for

the&seles? because others depend on the& for their surial$ Chiso&o sees in

each child the great potential to be so&eone special and i&portant if gien the

chance$

As ti&e went by Chiso&os heart beca&e heay with sadness$ Be started to doubt

if anyone besides Agogo Angela would help this pro'ect grow$ Agogo Angela? the

loing concerned person she is told hi& to be patient$ She repeated the words of

an old hy&n as encourage&ent for Chiso&o$ I& only hu&an? I& 'ust a &an$

.ord? help &e beliee in all I can be? and all that I a&$ Show &e the stairway that I

hae to cli&b$ .ord? for &y sake help &e to take one day at a ti&e$#

Agogo Angela continued to spread the word about the pro'ect Sowing the seeds

of loe ! "alawi#$ Ber hard efforts helped get &any different types of egetable

seeds sent to Chiso&o$ Chiso&o and the illagers planted the seeds with loe$

After daily care? they en'oyed watching and haresting a large crop$ They had

enough fro& this first harest to feed eeryone in the illage with so&e to spare

and sell at the &arket$

It has been a year since Chiso&o and Agogo Angela started this pro'ect$

Chiso&os drea& of one building for the orphans to lie in still has not &anifested$

A few &ore co&passionate people 'oined in this worthy cause to help change the

lies of the orphans$ A caring wo&an fro& the nited States paid for a well

needed wheel chair for "oses a parent liing in "alawi$ Be no longer has to crawlaround on his hands and knees to get to places$

Another kind hearted indiidual fro& nited States donated enough &oney for

Chiso&o to purchase 20 lie chickens for the fa&ilies of %epo (illage to raise$

This young father of fie also was able to start a branch of Sowing the seeds of

loe# in the nited States to help get &ore people inoled$

;ne day Chiso&os heart leaped for 'oy as a package of hand painted T-shirts

arried$ A caring great grand&other in the nited States purchased and hand

painted enough T-shirts for each of the orphans of %epo (illage$ Chiso&o felt thatfor the first ti&e these children were united as one large fa&ily$

en though Chiso&os drea& is still slowly unfolding he is able to see the sad

faces of these children turn to s&iles$ The &any s&iles of the orphans of %epo(illage is his proof that Kod does hear his prayers$

I always drea&ed of a place si&ilar to the Jondanani- illage that builds ho&es fororphans$ So&ething the orphans will take like ho&e? neer think of their parents

departure as burden but yet as a beginning of a new life to the&$ As they hae to

lie in har&ony? loe and light of the whole world? while learning skills of how to

&ake the&seles self -sufficient? they learn about the word of Kod$ There is so

&uch happening in the world? a sign of how people hae forgotten the word of
