    The tuner frequencies on this unit are allocatedfor use in Western Europe, Asia, the MiddleEast, Africa and Oceania. Use in other areas

    may result in poor reception. The RDS (radiodata system) function only operates in areaswith broadcasting RDS signals for FM stations.

    About this manual

    In the following instructions, USB memoriesand USB audio players are collectively referredto asUSB storage device.

    Demo mode

    Important! Failure to connect the red lead (ACC) of this

    unit to a terminal coupled with ignitionswitch on/off operations may lead to batterydrain.

    ! Remember that if the feature demo contin-ues operating when the car engine is turnedoff, it may drain battery power.

    The demo starts automatically if you do not oper-ate this unit within about 30seconds since theunit was last operated or if the ignition switch isset to ACC or ON while the unit is turned off. Tocancel the demo mode, you need to display theinitial settings. SelectDEMO(demo display set-ting)and turn off the demo display. For details,refer toInitial settingson page 7.

    Set up menu

    When you turn the ignition switch to ON after in-stallation, set up menu appears on the display.

    You can set up the menu options below.

    1 After installation of this unit, turn the

    ignition switch to ON.SET UPappears.

    2 Turn M.C. to switch to YES. Press M.C. to

    select.# If you do not operate for 30 seconds, the set upmenu will not be displayed.# If you prefer not to set up at this time, turnM.C.to switch toNO. Press to select.If you selectNO, you cannot set up in the set upmenu.

    3 Perform the following procedures to set

    the menu.To proceed to the next menu option, you need toconfirm your selection.

    CLOCK SET(setting the clock)

    1 TurnM.C.to adjust hour.2 PressM.C.to select minute.3 TurnM.C.to adjust minute.4 PressM.C.to confirm the selection.

    FM STEP(FM tuning step)

    Normally, the FM tuning step employed by seektuning is 50 kHz. When AF or TA is on, the tuningstep automatically changes to 100 kHz. It may bepreferable to set the tuning step to 50 kHz whenAF is on.! The tuning step remains at 50kHz during man-

    ual tuning.

    DEMO(demo display setting)

    TITLE(multi-language)

    This unit can display the text information of a com-pressed audio file even if they are embedded in aWestern European or Russian language.

    ! If the embedded language and the selectedlanguage setting are not the same, text infor-mation may not display properly.

    ! Some characters may not be displayed prop-erly.

    Basic operations

    Important! Handle gently when removing or attaching

    the front panel.

    ! Avoid subjecting the front panel to excessiveshock.! Keep the front panel out of direct sunlight

    and high temperatures.! To avoid damaging the device or vehicle inte-

    rior, remove any cables and devices attachedto the front panel before detaching it.

    Removing the front panel to protect your unit fromtheft1 Press the detach button to release the front

    panel.2 Push the front panel upward (M) and then pull

    it toward (N) you.

    3 Always keep the detached front panel in a pro-tection device such as a protection case.

    Re-attaching the front panel1 Slide the front panel to the left.

    Make sure to insert the tabs on the left side ofthe head unit into the slots on the front panel.

    2 Press the right side of the front panel until it isfirmly seated.If you cannot attach the front panel to thehead unit successfully, make sure that you areplacing the front panel onto the head unit cor-rectly. Forcing the front panel into place mayresult in damage to the front panel or head

    unit.

    Turning the unit on1 PressSRC/OFFto turn the unit on.

    Turning the unit off1 Press and hold SRC/OFF until the unit turns

    off.

    NoteWhen this units blue/white lead is connected tothe vehicles auto-antenna relay control termi-nal, the vehicles antenna extends when thisunits source is turned on. To retract the anten-na, turn the source off.

    Selecting a band

    you cannot recall preset stations. You need toselectPCH(preset channel) inSEEK. For de-tails about the settings, refer to SEEK(left/rightkey setting)on the next page.

    Manual tuning (step by step)1 Press c ord.! IfPCH(preset channel) is selected in SEEK,

    you cannot tune up or down manually. You

    need to selectMAN(manual tuning) inSEEK.For details about the settings, refer to SEEK(left/right key setting)on the next page.

    Seeking1 Press and hold c ord, and then release.

    You can cancel seek tuning by briefly pressingc ord.While pressing and holdingc ord, you canskip stations. Seek tuning starts as soon asyou releasec ord.

    NoteThis units AF (alternative frequencies search)

    function can be turned on and off. AF should beoff for normal tuning operation (refer to AF(al-ternative frequencies search)on the next page).

    Storing and recalling stationsfor each band

    Using preset tuning buttons

    1 When you find a station that you wantto store in memory, press one of the preset

    tuning buttons (1 to 6) and hold until thepreset number stops flashing.

    2 Press one of the preset tuning buttons (1

    to 6) to select the desired station.

    Switching the RDS display

    Searching for an RDS station by PTY informationYou can search for general types of broadcastingprograms, such as those listed in the followingsection. Refer to this page.1 PressPTY.2 TurnM.C.to select a program type.

    BSM(best stations memory)

    BSM (best stations memory) automatically storesthe six strongest stations in the order of their sig-nal strength.1 PressM.C.to turn BSM on.

    To cancel, pressM.C.again.

    REGION(regional)

    When AF is used, the regional f unction limits theselection of stations to those broadcasting region-

    al programs.1 PressM.C.to turn the regional function on or

    off.

    LOCAL(local seek tuning)

    Local seek tuning lets you tune in to only thoseradio stations with sufficiently strong signals forgood reception.1 PressM.C.to select the desired setting.

    FM:OFFLV1LV2LV3LV4MW/LW: OFFLV1LV2

    The highest level setting allows reception ofonly the strongest stations, while lower levelsallow the reception of weaker stations.

    PTY SEARCH(program type selection)

    Basic operations

    Playing a CD/CD-R/CD-RW1 Insert the disc into the disc loading slot with

    the label side up.

    Ejecting a CD/CD-R/CD-RW1 Pressh.

    Playing songs on a USB storage device1 Open the USB port cover.2 Plug in the USB storage device using a USB

    cable.A song will be played automatically.

    Stopping playback of files on a USB storage de-vice1 You may disconnect the USB storage device at

    any time.The unit stops playback.

    Selecting a folder1 Press1/ or2/ .

    Selecting a track1 Press c ord.

    Fast forwarding or reversing1 Press and hold c ord.! When playing compressed audio, there is no

    The cut-off frequency and output level can be ad-justed when the subwoofer output is on.Only frequencies lower than those in the selectedrange are outputted from the subwoofer.! When you selectOFFinSUB.W, you cannot se-

    lect this function. For details, refer toSUB.W(subwoofer on/off setting)on the previouspage.

    SLA(source level adjustment)

    SLA(Source level adjustment) lets you adjust thevolume level of each source to prevent radicalchanges in volume when switching between sour-ces.! Settings are based on the FM volume level,

    which remains unchanged.! The MW/LW volume level can also be adjusted

    with this function.! When selecting FM as the source, you cannot

    switch toSLA.1 PressM.C.to display the setting mode.2 TurnM.C.to adjust the source volume.

    Adjustment range:+4to 43 PressM.C.to confirm the selection.

    Initial settings

    ImportantPW SAVE(power saving) is cancelled if the ve-hicle battery is disconnected and will need to be

    turned back on once the battery is reconnected.WhenPW SAVE(power saving) is off, depend-ing on connection methods, the unit may con-tinue to draw power from the battery if yourvehicles ignition doesnt have an ACC (acces-sory) position.

    1 Press and hold SRC/OFF until the unitturns off.

    2 Press SRC/OFF and hold until function

    name appears in the display.

    3 Turn M.C. to select the initial setting.

    After selecting, perform the following proce-dures to set the initial setting.

    CLOCK SET(setting the clock)

    1 PressM.C.to display the setting mode.2 PressM.C.to select the segment of the clock

    display you wish to set.HourMinute

    3 TurnM.C.to adjust the clock.

    CLOCK(clock display)

    You can turn the clock display on or off.The clock display disappears temporarily when

    you perform other operations, but the clock dis-play appears again after 25 seconds.1 PressM.C.to turn the clock display on or off.

    FM STEP(FM tuning step)

    Normally, the FM tuning step employed by seektuning is 50 kHz. When AF or TA is on, the tuningstep automatically changes to 100 kHz. It may bepreferable to set the tuning step to 50 kHz whenAF is on.! The tuning step remains at 50kHz during man-

    ual tuning.1 PressM.C.to select the FM tuning step.

    AUTO-PI(auto PI seek)

    The unit can automatically search for a differentstation with the same programming, even duringpreset recall.1 PressM.C.to turn Auto PI seek on or off.

    AUX(auxiliary input)

    Activate this setting when using an auxiliary de-vice connected to this unit.1 PressM.C.to turnAUXon or off.

    USB PNP(plug and play)

    This setting allows you to switch your source toUSB automatically.1 PressM.C.to turn the plug and play function

    on or off.ONWhen USB storage device is connected,depending on the type of device, the source isautomatically switched toUSBwhen you turnon the engine. If you disconnect your USB stor-age device, this units source is turned off.OFFWhen USB storage device is connected,the source is not switched to USBautomati-cally. Please change the source toUSBman-ually.

    REAR-SP(rear output setting)

    The rear speaker leads output can be used for full-range speaker or subwoofer connection.If you switch toSW, you can connect a rear speak-er lead directly to a subwoofer without using anauxiliary amp.Initially, REAR-SP is set for rear full-range speakerconnection (FUL).1 PressM.C.to select the desired setting.

    ! Even if you change this setting, there willbe no output if you select OFFinSUB.W(Refer toSUB.W(subwoofer on/off setting)on the previous page).

    ! If you change this setting, subwoofer out-put in the audio menu will return to the fac-tory settings.

    PREOUT(preout setting)

    The RCA outputs can be used for rear speaker orsubwoofer connection.If you switch toSW, you can connect a rear speak-er lead directly to a subwoofer without using anauxiliary amp.Initially, PREOUTis set for rear full-range speakerconnection (SW).1 PressM.C.to select the desired setting.

    Discs and player

    Use only discs that feature either of the followingtwo logos.

    Do not insert anything other than a CD into theCD loading slot.

    Do not use cracked, chipped, warped, or other-wise damaged discs as they may damage the play-er.

    SLA(rglage du niveau de la source)

    La fonctionSLA(rglage du niveau de la source)permet dajuster les niveaux sonores de chaquesource afin dviter que ne se produisent de fortes

    variations damplitude sonore lorsque vous passezdune source lautre.! Les rglages sont bass sur le niveau du vo-

    lume FM qui lui, demeure inchang.! Le niveau du volume MW/LW (PO/GO) peut

    galement tre rgl avec cette fonction.! Si FM a t choisie comme source, vous ne

    pouvez pas afficher la fonction SLA.1 Appuyez surM.C.pour afficher le mode de pa-

    Rglages initiaux

    ImportantLa fonctionPW SAVE(conomie dnergie) estannule si la batterie du vhicule est dconnec-te et devra tre ractive une fois la batterie re-connecte. QuandPW SAVEest hors service, ilest possible que selon la mthode de connexionutilise lappareil continue consommer ducourant de la batterie si le commutateur decontact de votre vhicule ne possde pas de po-sition ACC (accessoire).

    1 Maintenez la pression sur SRC/OFF jus-

    FM STEP(incrment daccord FM)

    Normalement, lincrment daccord FM employpar laccord automatique est 50kHz. Quand lafonction AF ou TA est en service, l incrment dac-cord passe automatiquement 100kHz. Il peuttre prfrable de rgler lincrment daccord 50 kHz quand la fonction AF est en service.! Pendant laccord manuel, lincrment dac-

    cord est maintenu 50kHz.

    de navigation Pioneer connect.Le son est coup,MUTEest affich et aucun r-glage audio nest possible sauf le contrle du vo-lume. Le fonctionnement retourne la normale

    quand la connexion tlphonique ou le guidagevocal est termin.

    ! Lutilisation de cet appareil dans des condi-tions autres que les conditions suivantespourrait provoquer un incendie ou un mau-vais fonctionnement.

    Vhicules avec une batterie 12 volts et mise la masse du ngatif. Haut-parleurs avec une puissance de sortie

    de 50 W et une impdance de 4ohms 8ohms.

    ! Pour viter un court-circuit, une surchauffeou un dysfonctionnement, assurez-vous derespecter les instructions suivantes. Dconnectez la borne ngative de la batterie

    avant linstallation. Fixez le cblage avec des serre-fils ou de la

    bande adhsive. Pour protger le cblage, en-roulez dans du ruban adhsif les parties ducblage en contact avec des pices en mtal.

    Placez les cbles l

    cart de toutes les par-ties mobiles, telles que le levier de vitesse etles rails des siges.

    Placez les cbles lcart de tous les endroitschauds, par exemple les sorties de chauf-fage.

    Ne reliez pas le cble jaune la batterie tra-vers le trou dans le compartiment moteur.

    Recouvrez tous les connecteurs de cbles quine sont pas connects avec du ruban adhsifisolant.

    Ne raccourcissez pas les cbles. Ne coupez jamais lisolation du cble dali-

    mentation de cet appareil pour partager lali-mentation avec dautres appareils. Lacapacit en courant du cble est limite.

    Utilisez un fusible correspondant aux caract-ristiques spcifies. Ne cblez jamais le cble ngatif du haut-par-

    leur directement la masse. Ne runissez jamais ensemble les cbles n-

    gatifs de plusieurs haut-parleurs.! Lorsque cet appareil est sous tension, les si-

    gnaux de commande sont transmis via lecble bleu/blanc. Connectez ce cble la t-lcommande du systme dun amplificateurde puissance externe ou la borne decommande du relais de lantenne motorisedu vhicule (max. 300mA 12V CC). Si le vhi-cule est quip dune antenne intgre la
