On Friday, December 2, 2016, the Kiwanis Club of Mansfield heard from Chaplain Rich Stoglin and John Benson with Redemption Bridge a non-profit dedicated to coordinating housing, employment, mental & medical health, transportation, and community & faith based support for veterans and individuals released from the prison and juvenile justice systems with other non-profit organizations in the Tarrant County area.

Mr. Benson and Chaplain Stoglin discussed how the idea of Redemption Bridge started and the groundwork it has established to help in the community. Redemption Bridge is developing a sustainable, scalable, replicable model for re-entry

and re-integration for ex-offenders, veterans, and juvenile offenders into family, community, and society with life skills to be successful. Redemption Bridge is currently looking for more non-profit partners to assist with this mission. Please visit www.redemptionbridge.com for more information.

Member Program Schedule:

Years ago the Club adopted a rotating system that afforded each member the opportunity to schedule Meeting programs for a month. In order to assign this monthly opportunity, the Club, when necessary, will draw each member’s name from a hat containing names of all Club members and assignments are determined accordingly. As a reminder, below is the current program schedule assignment.

December – Gary Mills January – Steve Standefer February – Claude Cunningham March – Steve Grammer

FEED THE KIDS FOR SUMMER PROGRAM In 2006 Common Ground created a way to help feed children during the summer that relied on the Federal free or reduced lunch program during the school year by creating the Feed the Kids Program. Money for this program was in very short supply until The Kiwanis Club of Mansfield heard about the efforts of Common Ground and joined forces to meet the needs of these children. The following year The Mansfield Kiwanis provided substantial financial resources, volunteers and bags to support the Feed the Kids Program. The number of children served has increased more than four fold since its inception. The Mansfield Kiwanis continue to support the Feed the Kids for Summer Program. Club Member Phil Stover is a Co-Chair of this program.
