Students selected through campus placement at INFOSYS

LTD., Pune and NECO, Raipur

Top IT company of India, INFOSYS LTD., Pune has recently selected four students of

MIET, Gondia in campus selection drive. Selected students are Mohit Kochar Jain, Suraj

Sahu, Nidhi Rahangdale all from (Electronics and Communication Dept.) whereas

Shobhit Katiyar(Electronics Dept.). Initially, the company offers pay package of Rs. 3.5

lacs annually. Similarly, Aniruddha Niranjane of Civil Engineering department is

selected at NECO Raipur. All the students are of 2013 -14 batch.

Recently, Aditi Bisen of Electronics and Communication engineering department got

selected in recruitment drive of L&T Infotech held at company site. Moreover, Radhika

Agrawal (Computer Technology)and Vivek Damahe(Electronics and Communication)

selected in Syntel, Pune in another recruitment drive at Syntel company site.

The Principal, Dr. S.S.Rathore, T&P officer Mr. Anand Manjarkhede, faculty members

Rwnak Wegad tops in University Examinations

Mechanical Engineering of Manoharbhai Patel Institute of Engineering

and Technology, Gondia has brought laurel by securing first position in

summer 2014 examination of RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur. He has

been topper throughout his career. He has scored 80% marks in the

above examination. He got placed in Sunflag Iron and Steel Pvt. Ltd., Bhandara through

campus placement. The Principal, Head of Mechanical Engineering Deptt. and Staff

members have congratulated him on his success.

Students of Civil Engineering Department excels in university

exams

Students of final year civil engineering brought laurel to the institute by securing

impressive position in university examinations. Aggregate distinction marks achieved by

following students are Ankit Mankar (81.06%), Surabhi Kumari (81.03%), Prabhajeet J.

Bhatia (79.8%), Harsh Tomar (79.53%), Harsh Kaushik (78.2%), Abhishek Dubey

(76.63%) and Utkarsh Dhurve (75.06%).

Board Accreditation for ensuring and delivering quality technical education in the

faculties of engineering & Technology, Management Pharmacy and others, said Dr B. L.

Gupta, Head, Department of Management, NITTTR Bhopal while addressing as key

resource person to the participants of ISTE New Delhi approved short term course on

“Training of Outcome Based Accreditation Process & Parameters” held at and organized

by Gondia Education Society’s, Shri Manoharbhai Patel Institute of Engineering and

Technology, Gondia.

Interacting with the large number of host and guest participants, Dr Gupta, known for his

articulate style, left everyone present amidst explicit and exclusive affairs.

Talking on the importance of NBA to institutes imparting technical and higher education

he explicate the Washington Accord, signed among six countries in 1989, an International

Agreement among bodies responsible for accrediting undergraduate engineering degree

programs which recognizes the substantial equivalency of programs accredited by those

bodies and recommends that graduates of programs accredited by any of the signatory

bodies be recognized by the other bodies as having met the academic requirements for






entry to the practice of engineering in the area of their jurisdiction.

The membership of Washington Accord is an international recognition of the quality of

undergraduate engineering education offered by the member country and is an avenue to

bring it into the world class category encouraging and facilitating the mobility of

engineering graduates and professionals at international level and also accreditation of the

courses in institutes is essential to meet the expectation of industrial world, asserted Dr.

Gupta.

Through a series of lectures, cases, mock exercises, explanatory notes and other tools of

learning he illustrated the concept of “Learning to Learn” and gave an idea on how to get

ready for accreditation and prepare the self assessment report and methodology for

documentation. He carried out a SWOT analysis through participants and gave tricks for

crafting the PEOs, POs and COs to fulfill the requirements of the vision statement.

Principal Dr. S. S.Rathore while summing up, highlighted the importance of accreditation

to institutes and students.He insisted on imbibing culture of teaching courses beyond

curriculum across the academia. He also expressed his gratitude towards Dr B L Gupta

and honored him.

Dr.Rathore urged the participants to adopt the learning of this course and extend to

implement in their respective institutions to achieve the common goal of building a strong

nation by creating quality engineering professionals

The participants praised the curriculum of the short term course and applauded the

hospitality & facilities endowed with. They were awarded the certificates for the

successful completion of the course.

IIT Bombay conferred PhD to Prof. B C Jain (HOD, ME)

Prof. B C Jain, Associate Professor and Head of Mechanical

Engineering department of MIET, Gondia has recently been

conferred doctoral degree from prestigious Indian Institute of

Technology, Bombay in its 52nd

convocation. He has completed his

research under the joint supervision of Prof. G K Adil and Prof.

Usha Ananthakumar of IIT, Bombay on the topic “Investigating the

alternative paradigms of manufacturing competence: An empirical study of Indian

companies”. He has published several research papers in the International Journal and

International Conferences and has teaching experience of more than 28 years. He has

given credit for this achievement to his guides, family members, Shri Rajendraji Jain,

Secretary, Gondia Education Society, Gondia, Dr S.S Rathore, Principal, MIET, Gondia

and friends. All the staff members, friends and the Principal of the institute have

congratulated him and extended best wishes for future.

RTMN University has granted recognition to Dr. S M Asutkar and Dr. V S Chourasia

from Electronics and Communication Engineering department as a supervisor for PhD in

Electronics Engineering under the faculty of Engineering and Technology.

Supervisor of R.T.M.Nagpur University from 13/03/14. He has received his PhD from

RTMN University in 2013.

Blood Donation Camp organized on 8th

Blood Donation Camp was organized on 08.08.2014 to commemorate the Birthday of

MLC Shri Rajendra hi Jain(Secretary, Gondia Education Society). Under the guidance of

Principal Dr. S.S. Rathore, the camp was organized by NSS Programme Officer Dr.






Sanjay M. Asutkar. Prof. N.H.Katre and 20 NSS volunteers donated the blood.

Blood Donation Camp was organized on 17.08.2014 in the fond memory of

Philanthropist Late Shri Manoharbhaiji Patel. Under the guidance of Principal Dr. S.S.

Rathore, the Camp was organized by NSS Programme Officer Dr. Sanjay M. Asutkar.

Mr. Ashok Pardhi and 10 NSS volunteers donated blood.






Seminar on Psychological Awareness and Stress Management

A Day long seminar on “Psychological Awareness and Stress Management”, was

organized under the guidance of Dr. S.S. Rathore, Principal MIET, Gondia, in the

conference hall of Manoharbhai Patel Institute of Engineering and Technology, Gondia

on 28th

August 2014.

Professor D. K. Pandey inaugurated the programme. Prof. A. K. Akant introduced the

Psychological Counseling Committee and its objectives. He also introduced the guest

Miss Shilpa Agrawal, Psychologist and Special Educator. She highlighted the common

problems of the youth, like jealousy, competitiveness, fear, anxiety, disappointment,

inferiority complex and many others and gave tips and solution to cope up with such

circumstances comes across the life of the students. She also guided on the importance of

time management.

Nagpure were the prominent among those present.

Prof P.R. Halani gave the vote of thanks and sum up the programme. Miss Shivani
