PROGRAM BENEFITSHOW DOES THE PROGRAM BENEFIT COMMUNITIES?Being part of the program and following the Steps:
• Lowers the risk of spreading disease and creating a fire hazard;
• Reduces waste; and
• Improves the environment in your community
IS THERE ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE? Not only is FREE collection provided to all registered communities storing scrap tires, each participating community also receives 50-cents per scrap tire collected. This means from a typical semi-trailer load of 1000 tires each community would receive $500 from TSM and avoid paying the cost to load and haul the tires to our tire recyclers.
WHAT HAPPENS WITH THE SCRAP TIRES?All Manitoba scrap tires are recycled and made into many rubber products, such as aggregate for road beds, landscape mulch, rain gutter splash pads, sidewalk blocks, parking curbs and safe playground surfaces! Your community can benefit by using these environmentally friendly, highly durable, and cost-effective products.
TSM can provide up to $20,000 in a matching Community Demonstration and Innovations Grant for the use of these Manitoba recycled tire products in community projects.
