Kristen tiene solo diez años, pero es una chica muy indepen-diente. En su colegio le llaman Kitten, porque adora los gatos y siempre tiene peluches, complementos y dibujos de dulces gatitos. Un buen día encuentra en el desván de su abuela un anillo con forma de corazón que le permite controlar a los gatitos que tanto adora. El problema es que con el poder del anillo los gatitos adquieren algunas capacidades extraordi-narias que no siempre podrá controlar fácilmente. ¡Pero son tan lindos!.

Kristen tiene que irradiar felicidad y diversión, rodeada de sus lindos gatitos mágicos. La versión que escogimos muestra el anillo de cora-zón que le da los poderes.

LOVELY KITTEN

1. SKETCHES BOCETOS

Kristen is only 10 years old, but she’s a very independent girl. At school they call her Kitten because she loves cats and al-ways carries around stuffed toys, accessories and drawings of sweet-faced kittens. One fine day, when rummaging in her grandma’s attic, she found a heart-shaped ring that allowed her to control all the kittens she loved so much. The problem is that by having the ring’s power over the kittens, they take on some rather extraordinary abilities that she can’t always control so easily. But they are so darned cute!

Kristen has to radiate happiness and fun, surrounded by her pretty magic kittens. The version we chose shows the heart-shaped ring which gives Kristen her powers.

FONDO We create the background with the Line tool, although we can also do this with the Rectangle tool.

• Colocamos el fondo dividido en cuatro capas. En la primera están las líneas diagonales, en la segunda la capa con la textura, después las estrellas desenfocadas y por último la cenefa decorativa.

• Añadimos los brillos creados a parte duplicándolos y repar-tiéndolos por la imagen.

• Los destellos mágicos de luz fueron creados mediante un pincel para el programa IllustStudio. Pero para Adobe Photoshop y otros progra-mas también hay muchos pinceles que se pueden descargar y que ayudan a crear infinidad de efectos.

FINISHING TOUCHES ACABADOS FINALES

• We set up the background by dividing it into four layers. In the first are the diagonal lines, the second the layer contain-ing the texture, then the blurred stars and finally the decora-tive edging.

• We add some sparkles, created by duplicating them and spreading them around the image.

• The magic sparkles of light were created using a brush in the Illust-Studio program. But in Adobe Photoshop and other programs there are many brushes that can be downloaded and help create a myriad of effects.

Entre juegos, bromas y mil aventuras, estos dulces angelitos disfrutan de sus horas de clase aprendiendo con la mejor de las sonrisas. Todos quieren sacar las mejores notas. ¡Es hora de ponerse estudiar!

Las tres ideas son realmente graciosas, pero la ilustración que final-mente hemos desarrollado muestra con mayor detalle los alumnos de esta particular clase.

HAPPY SCHOOL

Who said going to school had to be boring? The tireless students of B5 are ready for fun at any time of day. Be-sides their games, jokes and thousands of adventures, these sweet little angels enjoy their time in class by learn-ing with a smile upon their faces. All of them want to get the best mark in class. It’s time to start studying!

The three ideas are truly amusing, but the illustration we settled on in the end shows the students in this one-of-a-kind class in the greatest detail.

DETALLES The students at this school wear hoods representing different animals, as well as having little wings sticking out of their backs. All this makes them look cute and adorable.

Como colofón, contorneamos los personajes con una trazo que además les une mediante la línea discontinua que deja la estela del avión de papel.

6.4. COLORAs a final touch, we outline all the characters using a trace, which also unifies them through the discon-tinuous line marking the path of the paper airplane.

• Aplicamos a la imagen final acoplada una textura creada con el Filtro Ruido Añadir ruido.

• Organizar el trabajo en diferentes fases nos ayuda a poder realizarlo con mayor rapidez ya que los archivos tienen un peso menor y nues-tras computadoras funcionarán mejor.

• Los filtros como este de ruido es mejor aplicarlos al final, con la ima-gen ya acoplada en una sola capa.

• To the final flattened image we apply a texture created with the Add Noise filter.

• Organizing the work in different phases helps us to do it more quickly as the file size is smaller and our computers can function better.

• Filters such as noise are best applied at the end with the image al-ready flattened into a single layer.
