Class Descriptions

Calligraphy: Teach traditional writing of characters. Language Studies: Learning the language, including both written and oral practices on vocabularies, sentences; theme-oriented, culture and custom introductions. Creative Math: Focusing on cultivation of sense of numbers, with daily practices of basic calculations (based on ages: plus, minus, times, dividends) with fun and inter-active activities. Kung Fu: Kung Fu will teach some basic movements to also include both ballet and dance exercises. Theater: Students will participate in role-play activities to learn and practice rhymes, tongue-twisters, poems, ballads, and etc. Choir: Will teach traditional American kids songs with lyrics translated into Mandarin. Music: Students will be taught about the basic techniques of playing recorder. Kids shall bring their own recorder to class. Artistic appreciation: Meet the artists (Teachers of each Enrichment Class will present to kids in auditorium!) Office Copy 2

1. _______ Registration in MIMS Summer Camp is to be paid in full at time of registration for any week I register.

2. _______ If you are not a current student at MIMS, you must include a copy of your child’s immunization records. All immunizations must be current.

3. _______ Weekly Cost of Camp is not prorated and is non refundable if your child attends any day of the camp week. There are no refunds unless your child is required to attend an HISD Summer School. In addition, there are no prorations, refunds or make-ups due to inclement weather.

4 _______ I understand the pick up times and if I am late picking up my child I will be assessed late pick up fees as follows: a. For AM Campers until 12:00: I will be charged $2.00/minute if I do not pick up by 12:00. b. For Full Day OR PM Campers until 5:30: I will be assessed $2.00/minute until 6:00 PM if my child is not enrolled in after camp supervision

from 5:30-6:00 c. After 6:00 PM: I will be charge $5.00/minute.

5. _______ There is a cancellation fee of $25.00 on a full week. There is no proration of any week attended.

6. _______ I understand if my check is returned, I must directly pay to HISD the amount of the check in the form of a Money Order for the exact amount, as well as a $35.00 Fee. In addition, I must also provide all future payments in the form of a Money Order.

7. _______ I understand there must be a minimum 20 Registrations/week for this camp to be held. If the minimum number is not met, I understand I will be refunded.

8. _______ MIMS reserves the right to withdraw a child from the Summer Camp should he/she engage in activities demonstrating improper behavior.
