Tooling & Plastic Injection

Plastic Injection molding is a manufacturing process for producing parts by injecting plastic material into a tooling. Injection molding can be performed with a host of materials, including metals and most commonly thermoplastic resins. Materials for the part or parts are fed into a heated barrel, then mixed and forced into a mold cavity. After cooling, it hardens to the configuration of the cavity or mold.

PCB requires the additional design effort to lay out the circuit, but manufacturing and assembly can be automated. Manufacturing circuits with PCB is more efficient than other wiring methods as components are mounted and wired with one single part. A PCB populated with electronic components is called printed circuit board assembly or PCB assembly (PCBA).
