Introduction & Overview
Founded 1982. After Dr. William P. Magee (plastic surgeon) and his wife, Kathy (nurse and social worker), visited the Philippines to repair children’s cleft lips and cleft palates.
Today. It is an international medical charity dedicated to helping improve the health and lives of children from more than 60 countries.
Credentialed. Thousands of credentialed medical professionals from more than 80 countries volunteer for this organization.
Many clients. Operation Smile (OS) has provided over 220,000 free surgical procedures for children and young adults with facial disfigurements.
Empowerment. The organization provides training in their partner countries in order for them to continue to treat their local communities.
Donations. The organization also donates medical equipment & supplies; it provides year round medical treatments through their worldwide centers .
Operation Smile mobilizes a world of generous hearts to heal children's smiles and transform lives across the globe.
