INTRODUCTION:This programme facilitates a dialogue about teaching, learning and leading in the school environment in order to keep pace with emerging demands and challenges. It covers a wide gamut of issues such as science of learning, pedagogy, classroom climate, curriculum development, varied learning and teaching styles, stages of student development, developing creative thinking and problem-solving skills etc. besides providing clues on managing various stakeholders-students, teachers, parents, employers, society, government and humanity at large in the 21st Century.

OBJECTIVES:• To have discussions on the purpose of education, the notion of excellence in

education, pedagogical innovations etc.

• To identify key issues, challenges and opportunities to enhance the quality, motivation and commitment of teachers.

PEDAGOGY: This programme will be participatory and interactive throughout. Concept sessions, experience sharing, discussions and group-work will be interwoven to deliver an insightful experience. The entire approach is multidisciplinary. Most of the inputs are drawn from highly successful experiments as well as classical and contemporary writings on the subject.

PROGRAMME DIRECTOR:

Prof. C Panduranga Bhatta is the founder coordinator of Business Ethics and Communication Group and also the Coordinator of Management Centre for Human Values at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (2006-2014) and has four decades of teaching and research experience in postgraduate and doctoral level besides being a consultant and contributor to several research projects undertaken by prestigious institutions in India and abroad.

He has published four books and more than hundred articles in reputed national and international journals on leadership, creativity, excellence, managing power, tacit knowledge, etc. Prof. Bhatta has been honoured with a gold medal by the Association of Indian Management Schools for securing the prestigious “AIMS-ICFAI Best Teacher Award-2011.

PROGRAMME DURATION: January 18 - 20, 2017Check in: January 17, 2017 (6:00 pm onwards) Check out: January 20, 2017 (2:00 pm)

This Programme will be held at the Management Development Centre (MDC), inside the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta campus, during for a period of two and a half days.

For Residential participants, accommodation is arranged from the evening of the day before the start of the Programme. Participants must report at the venue of the Programme by the evening of January 17, 2017. The Reception at MDC is manned round the clock.

The Programme will be over by 2.00 p.m. on the last day. Participants are requested to make their travel plan accordingly.

PROGRAMME FEES:

The Programme fee for each residential participant will be ` 35,000/- plus applicable Service Tax, which will cover the cost of board and lodging, tuition, course materials, etc.

The Programme fee for each non-residential participant will be ` 30,000/- plus applicable Service Tax, which will cover the cost of food during the duration of the Programme, tuition, course materials, etc.

Discount on Programme fees: A discount of 10% on the Programme fees can be availed by an organisation if it nominates at least 4 participants for a particular MDP.Please Note: • Participants would have to make their own travel arrangements.• Accommodation at IIMC will be provided till 2.00 p.m. on the last day of the Programme. • If a participant fails to attend the Programme, no refund of fees will be made.
