Behavioral Health Information Technology (BHIT) Activities‣ The State identified agencies with minimal or no Medicaid billing
history and designated by the New York State Children’s Provider Designation review team to provide Children’s Aligned Home and Community Based Services, or new Children and Family Treatment and Support Services
‣ Funding is designated to assist with Behavioral Health Information Technology (BHIT) costs in preparation for the children’s transition to Medicaid Managed Care.
‣ These funds also include on-on-one consultation with MCTAC to evaluate the pros and cons of purchasing/upgrading your agency’s BHIT system(s) vs. connecting with another agency’s technology solution(s).
Key Deliverables for Recipients of BHIT Funds1. Complete the MC BHIT OSA by December 31st
2. Participate in focused MCTAC and State trainings in the month of February and March- These trainings will be focused on agency-specific needs based on the results of the MC BHIT OSA
3. Participate in one-on-one discussions with MCTAC to discuss BHIT solution(s) options
4. Complete BHIT funds reconciliation and planning template

MCTAC’s Role‣ Create, deploy and analyze the Managed Care BHIT
Organizational Self-Assessment
‣ Coordinate and develop in-person and web-based trainings and educational opportunities
Data Collection & Analysis‣ Data collection: Submitted online through Qualtrics
‣ Analyze collected data: Examine readiness and preparedness for the transition to managed care and identify areas where additional support is needed
‣ Report: MCTAC will present aggregated data to relevant stakeholders
‣ MCTAC will conduct small group training discussions based on the results of the MC BHIT OSA
‣ Connect providers to consultants. Utilize data from MC BHIT OSA to inform next steps
Managed Care BHIT Organizational Self-Assessment• This Managed Care BHIT Organizational Self-Assessment
is designed to provide organizations with 11 domains of processes, practices and change management activitiesneeded to effectively prepare for and function during theearly stages of a business relationship with a ManagedCare organization.
• The self-assessment tool offers a snapshot of theorganization’s current level of readiness as well as an assessment of the need for technical assistance. This toolmay be helpful as a planning resource to guideorganizations in their preparation and decision makingactivities.
Important Information To Know‣ Each agency submitted a survey based on self- report.
‣ The benchmarking tool is only based on scores relative to agencies that completed the assessment.
