Learning with a view...to the future.

Dear Parents, Carers and Friends,

Election day cake stall and BBQ. We need plenty of home made goodies for our cake stall and willing helpers to cook all those democracy sausages. A sign up sheet is at the front of the school, please add your name to a time slot. If we get lots of helpers it means less time on duty! Library working bee on election day. Our lovely library needs some care and attention. Asha and Amy have begun the process of tidying up and sorting but they need help! If you have some time on election day to spend 15-30 minutes in our library doing a small job it will make a big difference. There will be a list of jobs to do to guide you on the day. Second hand uniform sale. Jan will be setting up a second hand uniform stall at the front of the school next Tuesday and Wednesday.

School Nurse Visit. Don’t forget to return Prep assessment forms. If you would like the nurse to see your Grade 1-6 child, please call in at the office to collect a permission form.

Fair Sub-Committee. School Council has introduced a Fair Sub-committee to ensure we are spreading the load of organising the Fair. Our School Fair will be the major fundraiser for our school this year and we all need to find a way to make it a success. If you would like to be a member of the Fair sub-committee, please let me know and the days/times you would be available to meet. Hopefully you all received the ‘working bee cancelled’ email. (My email has not been performing very well this week!) There is a list of jobs at the front of the school. If you can do one or two of the jobs before election day that would be FABULOUS!

Malmsbury PS OSHC! The weather has been great for running around outside most days playing 'Shark Tornado', a game invent-

ed by Jayce. Tobias, Anna and Sophie got really creative with dripping techniques on black paper and there

were a few games of shops going on inside. Jayce replaced the batteries in the toy cash register with a tiny

screwdriver which has made 'Shops' even more fun.

With the cooler weather the students have been really hungry, making cheese toasties and a delicious veg-

etable soup to supplement their fresh fruit snack. Jordan used his mad maths skills to adapt a recipe for

strawberry dip that served 40 students to a more reasonable serving of 8. All students helped with washing

up and cleaning the kitchen. It was great to see students making good choices and listening to instructions

so that they could be safe in the kitchen.

From Louise.

We are proud and excited to have some of our students participating in the 2019 Victorian State Schools Spec-tacular: Made of Stars The Spectacular brings together government school communities from across Victoria. Fittingly, this year’s theme, Made of Stars, will feature a galaxy of out-of-this-world performances showing that these students are made of star stuff. The three-hour live show – involving music, dance, skateboarding and circus arts – will be performed to an audience of around 12,000 people at Melbourne Arena on Saturday 14 September over two shows at 1pm and 6:30pm. Talented Victorian students will feature on stage, while many other students will work behind the scenes, gain-ing unique, on-the-job, professional experience. The Spectacular is a creative vision of industry profes-sionals including Creative Director Neill Gladwin, Musi-cal Director Chong Lim AM, Dance Director Deon Nuku, (Scooby Doo, Happy Feet, Moulin Rouge) and Associate Dance Director Yvette Lee, (Dancing with the Stars, X-Factor Australia, Australia’s Got Talent and So You Think You Can Dance). For a fun, family entertainment experience, and to cheer on our students from the audience, be quick to secure tickets when they go on sale at 9am Wednesday 12 June via www.ticketek.com.au/spectacular Adult: $40 Child Under 15: $20 Concession: $30 Buy 10 tickets and get one adult ticket free (the 11th ticket is free) by calling Group Bookings on 1300 364 001.
