    The Quick Facts published yearly by the Educational Planning andResearch Division (EPRD), Ministry o Education Malaysia provides uswith the latest trends and development in Malaysian education system.

    This pocket-size in ormation-rich publication has become an indispensabledocument or those who are interested to know about Malaysia education

    statistics at a glance. The Quick Facts o ers essential in ormation on the number o schools,enrolment and teachers, as well as students achievement in national examinations. It also

    provides a glimpse o the statistics on private education.

    In addition, demographic and economic indicators o Malaysia and other selected WorldEducation Indicators are also provided.

    DirectorEducational Planning and Research DivisionMinistry o Education MalaysiaIn line with the growing demand or accurate and reliable data orcomparable educational statistics and indicators, the EducationalPlanning and Research Division (EPRD) is entrusted to produce the Quick Facts.

    The main objective o the publication is to act as a quick re erence onMalaysian education statistics which can be used by decision-makers and policy planners. Thestatistical in ormation provided can enable them to plan educational development policies andstrategies based on accurate, valid and timely data. The Quick Facts 2011 contains in ormationthat will beneft the varied users which includes policy makers, educational planners,administrators and researchers.

    It is hoped that Quick Facts 2011 will contribute towards the development o a highly e ectiveeducation system in Malaysia. I believe it will also help other agencies, especially internationalorganizations to better understand the Malaysian education system.
